The US is on a knife-edge. The enemy for Trump’s Republicans is democracy itself

Biden’s warning, delivered on Wednesday, that democracy itself is on the ballot in that same spirit. They will have assumed that when the president said, “In our bones, we know democracy is at risk” it was so much campaign talk. But Biden was scarcely exaggerating.

More than 370 Republican candidates for some of America’s highest offices have joined Donald Trump in his big lie of election denial, either casting doubt on or wholly rejecting the legitimacy of the 2020 presidential result. That means a majority of Republicans running for those key positions refuse democracy’s most basic act: accepting the verdict of the voters.

What a load of crap.

The economy stinks...and is getting worse.
Biden is DESPERATE to turn around the Dems fortunes before the mid-terms.
So he pulls out this LAME paranoia.

He is deliberately trying to terrify, undecided voters into voting for Dems.
Disgusting.

Anyone who cannot see this?
Is staggeringly gullible and/or stupid.

Once again - I despise BOTH parties.

I await your usual, uneducated, ad hominem response.

"The US is on a knife-edge." Ah, how about you just fall on it now? Save someone from having to do it for you later, crying and pissing all over their shoes.

That knife has ALREADY split us in haff, BP.

What's left to do now is act accordingly.

I'm voting like there is no tomorrow!

THIS SHIT GOT SERIOUS!

These Trumptards, just here in this forum alone, is enough to SCARE THE SHIT OUT OF ANY DECENT LAW-ABIDING CITIZEN!

On 1/6, we witnessed how fragile our democratic process really is. And even before.

Had Pence succumbed to Trump’s pressure, we would have had a real mess on our hands. What we have also learned since then, that there was extreme pressure to “find votes”. 60+ lawsuits, based on lies, to circumvent the process.

Thank goodness all of those attempts failed. We needed all the protections we could get.

The Repukes have already started challenging the mid-terms -- before the votes are even counted.

Election Day is days away, but in courtrooms legal challenges already begin

I understand their plight. We used to know 99% of the results the morning after the election. But now we have high population centers controlled by demonstrably corrupt politicians that will not stop at anything to alter a fair election.
Now we don’t know the results until about a month after the votes have been counted.
Election nights used to be fun.

You're right -- we DO have corrupt, rotten, power-seeking politicians that will stop at nothing to ensure that their side wins.

But do we want to fix that?

I could post you 15 similar anti-Dem ads in 15 seconds.

Since I was a child I felt that those who went to war to protect our freedoms and ensure our right to vote were kind of holy ppl. I couldn't wait to be 21 and vote. But then they changed the law, due to the Vietnam War and us kids not old enough to vote being slaughtered there, to allow voting at age 18. I registered as soon as the law went into effect and proudly voted for the first time at age 18. I have voted in every single election since then. I am now 69 years old, so that is over 50 years. THAT is how we honor our founding fathers, our veterans, our Constitution.

It has sickened me to see since then how few Americans exercise this precious right, or even give a shit about what's going on in DC and the world. Stop bitching about ads to get Democrats to vote and just fucking be glad that someone bothers.

True patriots vote.

Stop with the drama. You are a pussy.

We didn't have the 18-year-old vote in my time, but how do we feel about it?

18 years old to vote.

21 years old to have a glass of wine with dinner.

25 years old to rent a car.

It's worth a thought.
