Russia and Turkey have reached an agreement to deliver grain free of charge to countries in need including Djibouti, Somalia and Sudan, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday, AFP reported.

Russian President Vladimir Putin "told me during our telephone conversation that we should send grain free of charge to countries including Djibouti, Somalia and Sudan. We have agreed," Erdogan said in a televised address.

"We agreed to discuss this extensively at the G20 summit" in Indonesia, he added.

"We will ensure that grain ships reach all countries in need, especially Somalia, Djibouti and Sudan, which are struggling with a serious food crisis and famine."

It just might be true.

You know what is absolutely true: western countries like the USA give a huge amount in aid.

Relative to the rest of the world, yes, but the U.S. is the richest country in the world. Furthermore, a big chunk of it is in military assistance, the U.S.'s massive military assistance to Ukraine perhaps being the best example. I and others don't think that the U.S. is doing regular people in Ukraine any favours by helping arming the anti Russian radicals that came to power in Ukraine after Euromaidan. I believe it's quite possible that Russia wouldn't have put boots in the ground in Ukraine at all if the U.S. hadn't been sending weapons to Ukraine prior to that.

Obama actually refused to arm Ukraine, precisely because he was concerned that doing so could escalate the conflict in Ukraine, but that changed during the Trump administration.

Did you know Zelenskyy is part of the Russian speaking minority in Ukraine. So is he an anti-Russian radical, or one of the Russians Putin is trying to defend?
