It's a self-defeating cycle to drive away people by being angry assholes, then becoming angry because they are lonely. Yes, it's irrational, but it's common among certain groups of people. Usually violent dumbasses. Abusive husbands/BFs/dads....who almost always end up ex-husbands, ex-BFs, deadbeat dads....or in prison.
Most, as you alluded, have limited mobility, which means, unlike EE and others who have loving families, there are limits in options for companionship and real life friends.
