Top teachers unions spent at least $2.25 million to re-elect Whitmer in Michigan

The nation's two largest teachers unions contributed at least $2.25 million to re-elect Michigan's Democrat Gov. Gretchen Whitmer as unions and school choice activists continue to pour money into the race.

The massive donations coming from the National Education Association (NEA) and the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) are going to the pro-Whitmer group "Put Michigan First." That organization is a federal 527 organization that is aligned with the Democratic Governors Association.

The National Education Association Advocacy Fund donated $1 million to Put Michigan First in July. AFT Solidarity, a group affiliated with AFT, donated a total of $1.25 million to that same group this year.

The most recent contribution from AFT Solidarity came on Oct. 13 for $250,000. It donated $1 million to Put Michigan First in late April......

"Gretchen Whitmer continues to take cues directly from her union bosses who shut schools down, kept our kids locked down at home longer than necessary, and created an education crisis in our state. She stood on the debate stage and blatantly lied that Michigan schools were only closed down for 3 months," Dixon said in a comment to Fox News Digital.

Sure they did for payback for closing the schools down and letting teachers stay home. Whitmer did not have the kids best interest at heart.

HOPEFULLY, MICHIGANDERS WILL REMEMBER WHO DESTROYED THEIR JOBS, AND STOLE A YEAR+ FROM THEIR KIDS' EDUCATIONS ,WHILE SHE IGNOTRED HER OWN MANDATES..

End of story

Libs of tik tok

Taking a few extreme examples as typical of teachers is dishonest. You can equally find extreme people on the right or very religious who exhibit that in the classroom. Most of the examples in the video will be different in 10 years (if they are still teaching).

You could do the same video using preachers, stock brokers, retail workers, fast food managers, doctors, lawyers, or any other group.

Probably a more numerous example would be a coach with his feet on the desk who is supposed to be teaching history who is talking about football or giving the kids a "free" period. Yes, it is a stereotype, but something you are more likely to find than a teacher telling his class he is non-binary.

Agreed except one teacher can instruct 30, kids in a class. If there are six classes in a day, you do the math plus the fact they have tenure, and we as parents suffer the consequences. I am not painting all teachers, I am calling out the system that will not allow these wackjobs to be dismissed.
BTW there arre hundreds of videos lioke the oine I posted so don't play this as a one off.

Tenure does not protect teachers who do not teach the curriculum. As the former head of the teacher's union said, "it is not tenure that protects incompetent teachers but weak administrators."

I don't think a teacher has any business discussing their personal sex lives in class, but neither do I think the things those teachers said in the video are likely to harm any kid. They have parents who are gay or sympathetic or they can see the same stuff in TV cartoon shows. Most of those teachers are young, probably recent college graduates, who are impressed with their new ideas. In a few years they will realize the kids don't care about their gender or pronouns.

Three words that define what is wrong with Trumpian Americans. LOL

Why, as a blue-collar dumbass, are you against unions? Are you really too fucking stupid to realize the problem there?

Isn't it funny that every year we hear the sob stories about teachers who have to pay out of their own pockets for supplies needed to teach the poor little children but the teachers union has more than $2 million to reelect the Michigan Nazi?

If you ever through with your big head instead of your small head, Mr. Tiny Penis, then you'd have realized I neither voted for or support Biden.

Your problem isn't that you are an uneducated fucking moron. Your problem is that you are an uneducated fucking moron who thinks he's the smartest person in the room.

Your brats are growing up just like you and your answer is to blame the teacher unions.

Pull your head out of your ass, Yak: People on strike don't get paid.

You, like Mr. Tiny Penis and his fucking brats, are a fucking moron who attacks the working class by trusting the rich.

Mr. Tiny Penis, thanks for the compliments.
BTW, union strikers do get paid while on strike.

Mr. Tiny Penis, if you never got paid, you were screwed over by your union leaders. Sux 2 B U

It's that standard, dumbass. Are you thinking about public unions like police and firefighters? Why do you want to kill police and firefighter unions? Do you hate cops? Firemen?

No more than necessary.

I think we get a lot of misinformation making people think the extreme cases are the norm. They also exaggerate the unions as part of the problem. My state has the same educational problems as others and there are no teachers' union with any power because there is no collective bargaining or strikes for public employees. I am very critical of education for many reasons, but the "woke" teachers and unions are not the major problems.

I know we all get tribal here, myself included, but don't b.s. me. This isn't about "we think kids should show how they got their math answer via the common core method and Republicans don't".

The Prize about Mark Zuckerburg's donation and the Newark school system offered great insight into the inner workings of schools and schools districts and what the real goals are (hint: jobs are a huge part of it).

On one hand it's understandable. If I run a teachers union and I see charter schools for instance that outperform the other public schools and their teachers aren't unionized, then I recognize them as a threat. So of course I'm going to support politicians who run against charter schools or any other potential competition. It's not about what's best for kids its what's best for the union. It's why they exist.

But don't try and tell me with a straight face that it's about the kids etc.

Arsecheese is a bullshit meister, that goes without saying.
