This is why laws are changed. Every state has stupid laws that should have never been allowed to become law in the first place.

And it usually takes a lawsuit like the one that is surely coming here- TO CHANGE THEM BACK!

I suspect that the No-Bail law is headed for the chopping block!

In Texas, You hit your spouse or lover- or anyone- you are looking at a Felony charge of Assault. The bail could be as low as $5,000 where only 10% has to be put up.

If someone in Texas were arrested for assault- they could still easily get out of jail for $500 bucks- AND IF THEY WERE DETERMINED TO KILL THE ONE THEY PREVIOUSLY ASSAULTED- Paying that Bail would not prevent them from carrying that out either.

So this is not really about bail anyhow- as I question why anyone that is arrested for assault should be allowed bail in the first place.

Speedy trials without bail is the answer!

The trial for assault should happen while the proof is still on the face or body of the victims of the crime IN THE FIRST PLACE!

If you need more judges, jail cells, or courtrooms- GET ER' DONE!

But then this is where the Tax Payers say- NO! OUR PROPERTY TAXES ARE ALREADY TOO HIGH!

When the tax base refuse to vote for tax increases for more jail cells, courtrooms, or judges, THEN THE GOVERNMENT CREATES STUPID LAWS LIKE THIS!

There are many parts of that law that will be changed. Some were changed this spring, so it must be judges that are letting everyone out of jail.

There were several reasons why the State passed the stupid no-bail laws.

One of them is not enough jail cells, courtrooms, and judges to handle the backlog.

And for the reasons you mentioned as well!

Dallas County had to let hundreds of people in jail get out without bail here recently for the lack of Jail cells to hold them.

Most of which were in jail for over 6 months already and still couldn't make bail- with trials scheduled 6 months or longer down the road!

This is a problem across the entire country.

Stalling these trials is a lawyer trick- like Trump uses to his advantage- and it never benefits the victims- ONLY THE CRIMINALS LIKE HIM.

Donald Trump himself is currently stalling just about every Court Room now in the state of NY with every trick in the book! Some of his trials alone have been hung up in court for years.

These laws must change and there must be speedier trials to resolve these problems!
