Republicans need to stop talking the economy down

On that, we're in complete agreement.

But given the global situation and the idea that the US dollar is no longer tied to anything tangible - they're really playing w/ fire here. I don't consider this to be normal electioneering. Constant dooming could push a precarious situation over the edge, where even the mighty Republicans won't be able to fix it.

I'm not some expert political strategist like James Carville or Karl Rove but I'm smart enough to know that if I'm out of power and according to many polls the number one issue of voters is inflation then I'm going to focus on it.

I'm not going to sit here and claim I follow all the various races around the country all that closely but I can't say I'm familiar with Republican candidates saying the U.S. dollar is no longer tied to anything tangible. Seems to me that would make headlines.

No, they aren't. That is an utter pile of bullshit.

Being this was in April, and prices have only risen since then, yes they are, you stupid douche.

Oh yeah, it's all rainbows, sunshine, and unicorns! :palm:

But wait! That unicorn is emitting methane gas which adds to "climate change" and must be stopped at all costs!
It’s not rainbows, but it isn’t the gloom and doom, either. I still haven’t heard how Trumpublicans are going to fix inflation, would you share their ideas?

Republican candidates aren't saying that. It's the truth of the US dollar.

So Democrats fucked it all up so they should be voted for some more instead of Republicans who won't be onboard with the asinine policies, amirite? :palm:

Fuck off with your lying government bullshit. I know what my eyes see. Everything is doubly worse than they claim. Fuck you with that!

ROTFLMFAO!!!!! So you are just making shit up. The government is lying about inflation. So why don't they just claim there isn't any inflation? You might be the stupidest fuck on this site.

What is the Republican plan to lower inflation? Do you have the details?

That's what you're rolling with? G'luck with that!

It's going to get worse before it gets better no matter what, but maybe some laws could be put in place to stop the weaponization of the bureaus and some relief for Americans in the short and long term that Democrats simply are not offering.

Democrats brought all this bullshit on in the first place. Voting for them is against any Amercan's best interest. Right now the Democrat goal is to take down America. If that's not what you want, don't vote for them, because it IS what they

want, and voting Independent is like pissing into the wind and will accomplish nothing, that leaves only one other choice, and yes, it's Republicans.

Republicans are not saints or miracle workers, but they gotta be better than what the Democrats have been doing. Get the motherfuckers that want to hurt everyone out and then take it from there.

Then work on corruption and term limits and things like that. First and foremost the stupid has to be stopped.

Republicans have no plans for the economy. I get the same evasive answers when I call my representatives. It’s always switching the subject and finger pointing. I hear Cruz and MTG just planning to impeach Biden for revenge and Scott and others going after SS and Medicare. Going to be an interesting two years if Trumpublicans get the House and Senate.

The U.S. dollar is the strongest its been in 20 years. I'm not trying to be obtuse but I'm not following your concern. Do you fear the dollar will lose reserve currency status?

I can't pretend to be an expert on this. But it's what they call fiat currency. It's not tied to gold standard.

The future of the US dollar looks murky at best, based on a lot of what I'm reading and listening to.

I get that it's a campaign season - but they're hurting economic prospects, and also hurting working Americans.

We've added over 9 million jobs since Biden took office. The unemployment rate is LOW. Just today, growth and earnings news exceeded expectations, and the market has been going up.

It is FAR from perfect - obviously, inflation. But wages are also low, and other indicators aren't where they need to be.

But this is not the disaster Republicans portray it as. And it's time for them to stop talking that way - because the rhetoric has real-world impact.

My stocks have increased in value the past 2 days, but gas is going up two. Still and "win win".
