Adidas cuts ties with Kanye West over antisemitism

After an online backlash, Adidas announced early Tuesday that it would sever ties with Kanye West following a series of antisemitic public statements that that have led to the controversial rapper being banned from social media and condemned by the Biden administration.

“Adidas does not tolerate antisemitism and any other sort of hate speech,” the company said in a statement. His “recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful and dangerous, and they violate the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness.”

Was reading a discussion of Kanye on a football board of all places and saw this post which made some sense (not saying its necessarily true). It was in response to the question of why did he make these anti-sematic statements:


"Because people who happened to be Jewish (record execs and other businessman) screwed Kanye over according to Kanye. I do think he's been looking for a way out of the adidas deal though.

In hearing him talk on the lex fridman podcast its obvious he 1) has mental issues 2) is also a creative genius. Being in his brain sounds exhausting and full of contradictions."

The poor guy doesn't realize how sick he is. He needs a "guardian" of some kind to reel him in. Are his folks still alive? I hope he listens to them, eventually and gets help!

"happened to be Jewish" does not justify painting all Jewish people the same way. There is no "other side" to what "Ye" said. He needs mental help - STAT!

What the fuck kind of company would have ties to Kanye West, even if he performed cunnilingus on Barbra Streisand and Barbara Walters every day of the week?
 
Let the free market decide, let companies associate with who they chose and let customers decide if they want to associate with that store!
