I'd suspect if he does testify, and this will be before a committee where about half the membership were just voted out of office--it will be after the November election after all--that it would devolve into a shouting match between them and Trump with nobody looking particularly good. It will also do the Democrats ZERO good regardless.
Think about that. The committee is finished come January when the new Congress controlled by Republicans is seated. That outcome is a virtual certainty, like it or not. As many as half the members of that committee are no longer in Congress. The results of the mid-term elections have been known for two months, and regardless of anything the committee does post-election, it comes to an end in January.
So, the committee realistically has about two weeks, give or take, to do what they're going to do. After that, they are just sore losers and that doesn't do the Democrats any good.
