People in my circle have recently been talking about how it does not take a lot of reality based truth tellers to break the spell.......that we just have to keep going.....keep pointing out the insane and the Evil.

It's all about where the biggest cities are. Cities like NY, LA and Chicago make America run, at least economically. Most of the red states are predominantly rural.

Red states wouldn't make it on their own. Blue states would suffer a bit, because we're stronger as a union - but their prospects would be much better.

Ok, except the article is about rural vs urban areas. California has rural areas. Oregon has rural areas. Washington has rural areas. Illinois has rural areas. I could go on. Separating states isn’t going to eliminate rural areas.

In California a semi rural area wanted to break off and form a new state called Jefferson. Would you be in support of that?

I was probably overstating it in my 1st post when I said I'd be fine w/ it. I like America as is, and wish we could all hang together.

But we're at a crazy state right now. I'm not digging this. We've evolved to a kind of "my side has to win, or I'm simply not going to accept it" place, and it's creating turmoil and hurting us in quite a few ways.

I'm not saying Dems are clean on that, but I don't relate to the current GOP or MAGA in even the slightest way. And I'm a guy whose #1 candidate in '16 was Kasich. I'm not some dyed-in-the-wool Dem. I just don't think our current situation is sustainable.

I'm not ruling out that it could work itself out naturally, and I get that there has always been some element of hostility and division. But I'm definitely tired of people screwing around w/ this republic, which was hard-earned, with a lot of sacrifice by many.
