I know you don't recognize the parallel with how FDR handled things in China prior to the Pacific War in 1941. The same thing was being done there to Japan. FDR and the US sent increasing amounts of military and economic aid to China. Japan responded with expanding their war against China. Then a US warship was sunk by Japan (the Panay incident). The US started building factories in China to make war materials (CAMCO for example). That got more aggression out of Japan who saw US meddling as something that was none of the US's business.
Then the US slapped sanctions and embargos on Japan. Japan facing economic collapse declared war on the US and we got Pearl Harbor.

I, for one, don't think Ukraine is worth ending up in World War 3 with nukes raining down on us because some imbecile in the White House wanted to look strong on foreign policy.

But the vast majority of our economy is not oil based, so high oil prices are bad for us. That is why, even though we are currently a net oil exporter, we would like the price of oil to come down.

Basically, you are confusing the American oil companies with you personally. The American oil companies are not going to give you free gasoline. I do not care who the President is, it is not going to happen. They will sell it to you at market rates. We need to drive down those market rates.
