The records show that in 40 cases the Trump Organization billed the Secret Service far higher amounts than the approved government rate — in one case charging agents $1,185 a night to stay at the Trump International Hotel in D.C. The new billing documents, according to a congressional committee’s review, show that U.S. taxpayers paid the president’s company at least $1.4 million for Secret Service agents’ stays at Trump properties for his and his family’s protection.

It was DHS and SS idea, not Biden’s. I prefer my Presidents be protected, but that doesn’t mean they get to gouge the American tax payers to fatten their own pockets. This is the difference between Trump and Biden.

No one has complained about the cost of enhanced security for Trump Tower, Bedminister and Mar a lago, because it had to be done to protect Trump. The complaint against Trump is he charged the SS more for their rooms than he would charge a regular paying customer. He personally benefitted from the price gouging.

Exactly.. note the "slant" all the articles: "Biden won't complete the border wall, but he wants a fence". They're comparing the multi-billion dollar boondoggle that would have done nothing to slow the influx of refugees to a half-mill dollar fence to keep our president safe. What's the difference? Presidents get to choose where they go. The Secret Service has to provide protection for them. Reagan liked his California ranch. The Secret Service built quarters and such on it for the security contingent. Those stayed after Reagan left office.

Obama was particularly expensive as he kept going different places meaning the SS couldn't set up a permanent or semi-permanent presence like they did with Trump, the Bushes, Reagan, Carter, or Clinton.

Do you really think that half-million dollar wall is going to disappear when Biden leaves office? So Trump's company(s) charged the SS the going rate for staying at his resorts. Trump, like every president before him, went where he liked to go and the cost of protection was borne by the public.

You want to make it out that somehow Trump profited from this. Can you show that the costs charged included a profit margin or if they were just the costs as incurred for the stay? Biden is profiting to the tune of $500,000 in having a security wall installed on his property, that's patently obvious. That wall exists only because he is president and for no other reason.
