I love Fox News

I brew beer. But I also buy beer, LOTS of beer, cause I need the bottles for my beer. Also, because I love beer, good beer. I don't have the place to grow my own dope, I don't have the time or the knowledge. I would grow New Mexico headache dirt weed. I too know a guy who knows a guy that made 40k a month growing dope for years in Oregon. Good Hydro sticky icky one hit and quit mind fuck weed. I would get mine from him and he would GLADLY pay taxes for the ability to grow weed legally. You tax it at the source, before it is sold just like they do cigars, another of my hobbies, and the cost gets passed on to the end user. Problem is, government types would tax it execessively, much to the joy of Mott(:pke:) making it once again cheaper to grow your own.

You should send me a sample of your brew. I'll gladly pay. What is it?

He calls it Old Fart beer, his masterful blend is somewhere between Blatz and PBR in quality. $2.99 per case.
For that my name goes first on the Dictatorial letter head and you get no beer. I brew IPA's Stouts Oktoberfest Dark Bocks. Next batch I will get in touch with you Billy.

While MJ doesn't cause drunk driving (which is stating the obvious), people driving under the influence of MJ are still a threat as there reaction time is greatly diminished and their judgment impaired.

There was an English study that showed diminished risk. I am not sure of the quality of the study, but...

If it does diminish your ability to drive it's to about the same degree that having a big meal might. Let's outlaw buffets. Two beers will make you a much more dangerous driver than being stoned out of your mind.

Marijuana satiates in a way that alcohol does not. Many, people get a couple drinks in them and just want more and more. With marijuana you get a little buzz going and you're good for hours. I have not seen people routinely engage in excessive use like you see with alcohol.

The impairment of judgment, I am not sure what you mean by that, but it's effects on judgment are very small. Again, not even close compared to alcohol. People do some really stupid shit when they are drunk. About the dumbest thing you will do stoned is find something funnier than it really is or think the Kottonmouth Kings sound cool.

I know you are not making it, but many use the dui argument as a reason to keep it illegal. But that argument is very weak because the increased risk of marijuana dui is very small, at best.

"Researchers found that marijuana appeared to adversely influence subjects' ability to accurately steer a car "

Great... so their reaction time is ok, but they cannot steer? I would say that is cause for concern...

To another of your points, I don't think they use the driving ability as a reason to keep it illegal, I think it is more that they don't have a way to test for people under the influence.

That said, I did not mean to imply it was anywhere near as bad as alcohol. My point was that it should be legal... but that anyone under the influence who harmed another should be face a harsh penalty. Just as one would for a dui... as it is reckless endangerment.

It says that the drivers compensated and any possible increased risk is negligible. Like I said, it's on par with eating a big meal.

And as you said how they going to test for it anyway. Unless they are smoking at the time of the accident or admit to it, there is no way to prove it anyway.

It's an absurd argument to test, just another justification for the jailing of millions of minorities.
Watch super high me, the guy got tested by a doctor while under the influence. It was barely noticable.

That's my point sf. The problem of dui of marijuana is insignificant. Heck even dui of alchol is greatly overblown. If you want to talk about traffic safety, the biggest fish is poorly designed and maintained roads. The next biggest fish, attributable to actual drivers, is probably following too closely and there is hardly any enforcement at all on that.

My limited experience in the seventies was most stoners were couch locked or at a concert.

I think the above is the very reason it isn't a big issue for MJ users. As long as they aren't out of chips, they aren't going anywhere.

that said, having the experiences I have with people who are stoned, there is no way in hell I would ever get in a car with someone who is stoned driving.

You want to see the reaction time of a stoned individual, walk up to them and take a swing (don't actually hit them). They will have a delayed reaction or they will over react. Now walk up to them and tell them you are about to swing at them... their reaction will be more normalized.

The difference between pot and alcohol is that the stoner CAN focus, it is just a question of do they have something to focus on.... or are they in la la land?

Maybe it is just my personal experiences with them that is clouding the issue a bit.

Bottom line, we all agree it should be legal.

I tried playing tennis a couple months back after just a little wake and bake.
Two leftfeetites ensuded.
For me hand eye coordination went out the window, I wouldn't drive after more than about 6 hits. That's just me, I don't drive after more than 2 glasses of wine either.
I'm a light weight boozer and burner.

That is my point and my experience as well. Most stoners simply lack the desire to concentrate, unless given a reason to do so... such as proving they can be 'normal' even though stoned.
