Or is it just me?

Russian leader Vladimir Putin said on Friday that there is no need for more “massive” strikes against Ukraine “at least for now.”
When asked if he had regrets about his actions in Ukraine, Putin said: “I have no regrets. I want to make it clear that what is happening now is unpleasant.”

Putin says military mobilization will be completed within 2 weeks
“Mobilization is ending. I assume in two weeks all mobilizing measures will be over,” he said Friday.

ISW stated that untrained Russian conscripts have already been killed.
Also relatives of deployed conscripts have no contact with them and don’t know their whereabouts.

The Kremlin also indicated that Russia's goals could be achieved through negotiation. It appears he is looking for an off ramp, and I'm guessing the back channels are being worked hard. But yep, I agree, I think Putin realizes the situation he's in.

Zalensky openly says Ukraine will not negotiate with Putin, Russia has to get another more trustworthy leader.

The fact that Putin is begging for negotiations after that caustic rebuff from Zalensky seems like Putin has been weakened.

The Ukraine will be totally over run within days.
Soon the Ukrainian Army will be all but destroyed.
Ukrainian army- leaderless, deserting, unsupported.
"YOU DO NOT POKE THE RUSSIAN BEAR!"

Those quotes didn't age well.

I guess he thought there was some confusion about the pleasantness of his invasion.

One of your typical Russian free elections. Plus he got to obliterate a lot of disgusting apartment buildings in the part of Ukraine he didn't "claim he wanted".

That's not what Putin claimed he wanted when he invaded on February 23. He said his goal was the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine. Ukraine is better armed now than it was on February 23 and the government in Kyiv is still in control.

Russia lost a lot of blood, treasure, and prestige for something that is not even much of a buffer zone. Most of that land doesn't even border on Russia. It borders on international waters of the Black Sea and Sea of Azov. And meanwhile, because of Putin's actions, NATO has expanded right to the doorstep of Vlad's hometown in Saint Petersburg, with the ascension of Finland to the western alliance.

Your map shows Russia controls far less territory than it did on March 12, and your map is also out of date. Since September 27, Ukranian armed forces have pushed Putin further back and recaptured more occupied territories.

Like when your Messiah gave Pootie the Ukrainian Crimea. And then Hot Mic Obama gave the Ukrainians blankets to defend the Donbas. Where was your angst then? This is a continuation of Obama's foreign policy failure.

If you didn't know that Ukraine was the DMZ between NATO and Russia, that's fine. And don't know that Sevastopol is the real prize, that's fine.

Putin doesn't control Ukraine, and the slivers of land he does control is shrinking by the day.

Putin has driven Ukraine further into the arms of the west, Putin has caused NATO to get bigger, stronger, more united. And Putin has ensured that most Ukrainians will hate Russia with a burning passion for generations to come.

Trying to make any good news out of this for Putin is putting lipstick on a sow.

And the narrative was that Ukraine was going to join NATO anyway. :dunno:

Sevastopol is the prize.

So according to you and Trump, Putin was a genuis for occupying a sliver of land along the shores of the Sea of Azov at the cost of having decimated the Russian military, isolating Russia internationally, and making NATO bigger, stronger, and more united.

Cracka pleez :palm:

You white libs orgasmed allover yourselves when Hot Mic Obama said, The 80's wants its foreign policy back. :palm:

And within two years of your Messiah saying that, he gave Pootie the Crimea, and blankets to the Ukrainians to defend the Donbas. :palm:

Russia has drastically depleted its supply of long range missiles.

That along with all their other equipment that has either been destroyed or now belongs to Ukraine, is a big factor in what appears to be a softening or moderation of Putin's position.
