Jan. 6 takeaways: Subpoena for Trump, warnings for democracy

Why don't you want to hear Trump's testimony about what happened on Jan. 6?

BECAUSE I DON'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT THAT THREE-HOUR RIOT! It made zero fucking difference in the process and what Trump did or didn't do is irrelevant. Biden got elected and is in office. The Jan 6 committee is a fucking waste of time.

look....I think you're an asshole. I doubt we ever have something to say to each other again.

No, you don't. She didn't. Trump doesn't. You don't, and I don't.

Trump did. If the other side agrees to let you just read a statement then ok, but if they want they can make you plead the fifth to each question individually.

Wrong again!

Pleading the fifth is an all or nothing right, meaning you cannot choose to take the stand and then plead the fifth. Essentially, once you are on the stand, you are legally compelled to answer all questions asked of you by your attorney and the prosecution.

You cannot selectively use it. You either testify to nothing, or you testify to everything.

Sorry you and your website are wrong.

Your website is talking about being in a criminal trial, which is all or nothing. A deposition is different. A civil deposition is very different.

Try to educate yourself before you state a fact. A tiny bit of knowledge can get you in trouble. It’s much more complex than the way you state it.

If Congress (not a trial and non-criminal proceeding) calls Trump and requires him to answer each question, that is their right.

Trump's defense introduces his ENTIRE Jan 6 speech, including him exhorting protestors to "PROTEST PEACEFULLY"...and it's OVER, just like that.

The most inflammatory thing trump said that day was when he told his followers to "fight like hell because if you don't fight, you're not gonna have a country anymore."

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH SAYING THAT. These people who say trump incited a riot are lying and they know it.

Who cares or are you trying to present a Kafkatrap fallacy here?

The fallacy called kafkatrapping doesn’t represent an argument as much as it represents an accusation. Named after the famous Franz Kafka’s novel The Trial in which the main character is accused of an unknown crime. The only evidence is his denial of guilt.

The fallacy occurs not with the accusation but with the verdict. Accusing someone of something is not that dangerous, the accused has a chance to defend himself or ignore the accusation. Supporting the accusation with the denial of guilt by the accused is a fallacious argument. Therefore, the fallacy occurs.

Im presenting that you do not know much, despite the fact that you talk about a lot, Trunpper!

WASHINGTON (AP) — The House Jan. 6 committee took the extraordinary action of subpoenaing former President Donald Trump on Thursday as it issued a stark warning in its final public hearing before the midterm election: The future of the nation’s democracy is at stake.

The panel’s October hearing, just weeks ahead of the midterm election, focused on Trump’s state of mind on Jan. 6, 2021 as he egged on his supporters with false claims of election fraud, pushed to accompany them to the Capitol while lawmakers were counting the votes, and then did nothing for hours as the mob violently breached the building.

I think trump might show up and testify. It would be a shit show, like his debate with Biden, just trump yelling like a little girl the whole time - he won't answer any questions - but he might show up!
