Did he really say "conspicuous service medal"? There's no such medal. DeSantis has the same bronze star and he was a JAG too. He also has a navy & marine corp commendation medal. Biden probably had the army equivalent. It was usually handed out to junior officers in support roles as a package when they rotate out. The important thing to look for is the bronze "V" device for valor on the medal, a combat action ribbon, or a CIB. Not trying to take anything away from either of them.
