Why is trickle-down economics still with us?

Democrats and Republicans pay for tax cuts and spending by borrowing money. I didn't like Trump's tax cut without accompanying spending cuts because it increased the deficit and debt.

That's the point, tax cuts don't get "paid for" they are cuts. The federal govt does shit it has no authority to do but we pay for it.

Not cranky at all,....just telling it the way it is. You are seen as unwanted here for the most part. Everyone is on to youre lies. ;)

Everyone? Do you guys PM each other and talk about me? How fucking sad is that.

Dude, get a life.

But you approve of Biden's bizillion dollar “social infrastructure” bill?

Making the upper class pay their taxes.

The upper class are the only ones who pay their "fair share" of individual federal income taxes. If by "fair share" you mean pay the same percentage of taxes as their percentage of income. All other groups pay less.

96% of federal income tax paid by top 50% of income earners
4% of federal income taxes paid by bottom 50% of income earners (or -6% if you include federal tax credits).

Nope. I didn't like all the stimulus spending under Biden or Trump. That was one of the major causes of inflation.

Both parties are fiscally irresponsible. I didn't like Trump's tariffs or his $42 billion bail-out of farmers, Biden's forgiving college loans, Trump's extra $400 a week unemployment benefits, or most of that other spending.

Not according to the IRS and Treasury Department data. This has been discussed on here many times and all the data presented. It is not in dispute, but it does go against long-time stereotypes held by the American public.

Because it is false. Nice try, as usual, pretending that you're not a right wing stooge.

I have no interest in reading your stupid insults. Back to ignore.

You certainly dont want to read this

https://taxfoundation.org/publications/latest-federal-income-tax-data/

This was my favorite part from the link

"The top 1 percent of taxpayers paid a 25.6 percent average individual income tax rate, which is more than seven times higher than taxpayers in the bottom 50 percent (3.5 percent)."

"The top 50 percent of all taxpayers paid 97 percent of all individual income taxes, while the bottom 50 percent paid the remaining 3 percent."
