When I was younger they said Pokemon cards were trying to teach us witchcraft. The only messed up thing about the cards is how much some of the originals are selling for.

Truly he is. He has admitted to alcohol and substance abuse, said that he "retired" (aka was kicked out) at age 60, lost all of his friends, and says few talk to him anymore, lost his business (restaurant), etc. He sadly is a person who needs compassion, understanding, and many kicks in the ass to try to be better. He might get more of that if he didn't try to pretend he's better than everyone else, knows more, is into the fifth circle of the Kabal, and so on.

He Man and My Little Pony when my kids were little and my SIL was going through her “born again” phase of life. She’s returned to regular Christian activity now.

She scared them, I was upset and ask Bud to handle it. I was glad it happened the day before we left and not at the start of the visit. The kids didn’t want to visit after that, till they were older and she had mellowed. It’s better now.

I'm glad that she recovered and found her senses. I don't know WTF is wrong with ppl like that. But I do thank the one who lived in our 'hood when my youngest was struggling with learning disabilities, including reading. My late husband found a brand new hard cover copy of the first Harry Potter book when he took our Xmas trash to the community dumpster. He brought it home. She fell in love with the book, and the series, and the rest is history.

A major problem in the US is that people are allowed to be mentally ill without support. Insurance and laws are lacking.

Most chronically homeless are mentally ill. Substance abuse is common and often differentiated from mental illness, but I disagree with those models.
