The office of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Tuesday slammed a class action lawsuit filed by illegal immigrants flown to Martha’s Vineyard last week, saying the journey was done on a voluntary basis.

The lawsuit, filed in the District of Massachusetts, alleges that DeSantis and others "designed and executed a premeditated, fraudulent, and illegal scheme centered on exploiting this vulnerability for the sole purpose of advancing their own personal, financial and political interests."

In a statement provided to Fox News, Gov. DeSantis’ spokeswoman Taryn Fenske, slammed the class action lawsuit as "political theater" perpetrated by "opportunistic activists" at the expense of illegal immigrants.

"If these activists spent even a fraction of this time and effort at the border, perhaps some accountability would be brought to the Biden Administration’s reckless border policies that entice illegal immigrants to make dangerous and often lethal journeys through Central America and put their lives in the hands of cartels and Coyotes," Fenske said.

The form reads: "I agree to hold the benefactor or its designed representatives harmless of all liability arising out of or in any way relating to any injuries and damages that may occur during the agreed transport to locations outside of Texas until the final destination in Massachusetts."

Pretty funny the DeSantis lawyer using the term “political theater perpetrated by opportunistic activists at the expense of illegal immigrants,” when it is the exact thing DeSantis did, and by the way, they were not “illegal immigrants,” rather refugees

It wasn't in the contract that they were taking them to MV, just to Massachusetts, and the asylum seekers who were kidnapped said they were told they were going to Boston.

From the "consent form" second paragraph:

IN Massachusetts, not TO Martha's Vineyard.

Also, the second paragraph above was not translated into Spanish like the first and final paragraph were; why do you think that is?

Not an excuse that will fly, even if it is true. It is voluntary consent to be transported from Texas to a "sanctuary state." That's what it says. Massachusetts is such a state. It's even going to be harder if the person (illegal) used a false name, which many do.

Well it is true, because you can see for yourself on the consent form that the second paragraph was mysteriously not translated into Spanish.

And that second paragraph said that they were being taken to Massachusetts.

Why do you think it wasn't translated?

Why were the other two paragraphs translated, but not that one?

Obviously because they were intending to deceive these people since that's not a standard form template they used.

That's not what it says in Spanish.

The entire "take you to MA" part wasn't translated into Spanish but the preceding and successive paragraphs were.

Do you speak Spanish? I do and there is no mention of MA in the Spanish version of the consent form.

The Spanish version is the one signed. That's the one that counts. The English version is irrelevant because the illegal didn't sign that version.
