DeSantis’ office hits back after class action suit from migrants, reveals 'consent fo

The fact that they told the MSNBC (not friend of conservatives) reporter that they were happy with DeSantis and were thanking him destroys the Liberal argument that they were deceived.

The fact that some of them were happy is not evidence that they were not defrauded. Look at all the Trump supporters to find evidence of people being happy about being defrauded.

That dude literally said on another thread that he'd be happy if he was told he was going one place, but then was dropped off in a completely different place than what was promised.

Written contracts are all that count. All the verbal promises in the world mean nothing compared to a written contract.

Your answer is not correct. Does it matter if the written contract is written in a foreign language? There are a variety of ways that a written contract may become unenforceable.

According to the news reports, they were told they were going to Boston. They were told there would be food and shelter when they got there. They were told they would have jobs when they got there.
If they were told those things that would be fraud under the law.

You have proof of that or is this where we just take your word for it?

There aren't that many. Coercion, mental deficiency, failure to perform. The biggies.

So, if someone is promised a job and then doesn't get a job is that failure to perform?
If someone is told they are going to Boston and then are dropped off 90 miles from Boston is that failure to perform?

I suppose you could argue that DeSantis is mentally deficient if you want to go that route to invalidate the verbal contract.

How many of them are even sufficiently literate in English to sign a binding agreement?

DeSantis is an asshole.
Everybody who disagrees is equally an asshole.
It's every bit that simple.

Allowing somebody like Ron DeSantis to walk around as a free citizen is an indication of just how far America is already down history's toilet drain.

It didn't make my head explode. It might make Floridians heads explode when they find out that those 2 planes are going to cost them over $6M in legal costs trying to defend it and perhaps another $50M in damages if they lose the lawsuit.
Naww the Libratards will end up paying for Florida's expenses. This is a frivolous lawsuit. Think about it you have people who are ignoring our law trying to use our law.. They are letting a Libratard lawyer give them bad advice.

It was written in Spanish and several other languages. It's just that simple. Dumbass.

Maybe they could sue to get what they paid for their airfare back :dunno:

They each had two sided map one side had the United States with their departure city and arrival city Martha's Vineyard clearly labeled and a line in between. On the reverse side there was a map of Martha's Vineyard with the airport labled YOU ARE HERE. A pretty clever deception :rofl2:

It could have been written in ancient Hebrew.

No fact exists in the universe today that contradicts the certainty that Ron DeSantis is an insufferable buffoon.
How does one even try to imagine how stupid a Florida voter had to have been to consider him
a reasonable candidate for governor?

I used to go to Florida to have fun...party at the Fontainebleau, bet the ponies at the racetrack, play golf, watch spring training baseball...
now I wouldn't go there in a hazmat suit.

Verbal contacts are garbage

The variety is in the near infinite number of fact situations that might arise. Specific performance of a contract, the remedy here (and not damages) is an equitable remedy, meaning it involves fundamental fairness, not merely the plain meaning of the written language. In this case, were the passengers given the opportunity to read the contract, are they able to read English, were any representations or promises made to them not in the written contract that could affect the meaning of the contract, were they threatened in any way, exactly what does the language clearly require of them and of state officials? The heavily uneven bargaining power between the migrants and the State of Florida is a factor the court would also consider. This is not a slam dunk for DeSantis.

None of those shows a contract

The maps were not handed out until they landed in someplace other than Boston. Thanks for providing more proof of the deception.
