You do? What loads do you prefer? What powder? What bullet type and weight? Would you like to talk ballistics? Bullet drop? Barrel length and twist? What loading manual do you use (I have 3)?
It all starts with putting holes in a piece of paper. You should have learned that in the Marines, and the charts aren't always accurate. Hitting accurately at long ranges isn't as easy as some think.

Agreed, but I don't need to shoot someone in the eye at 500M. Just a solid hit is enough.

I do need to hit someone in the eye at 500m. I need to know exactly where my bullet will hit. That's the difference between a perfectionist and just a wannabe.

There's no doubt in my mind that you do.

Wannabe what? Competition target shooter? Agreed. Accuracy counts in competition. I've never been in a competition, nor have any desire to do so.

Yes, I do. I was a perfectionist in my career as well. That's why I could retire at 58.

I like competitions. Only the best compete. The mediocre just watch and wish they were there.
