I suspect that he just kept them because turning them over would reveal that he knew that he had them. He is a person who believes that laws and rules do not apply to him. He may follow some in order to get along and get what he most wants, but he believes that they are for the lesser people, like us. He's always been able to buy his way out of trouble. Bet he thinks he can this time, too.

And as much as I loathe the Fat Orange Turd, I find it hard to believe he would sell documents that would hurt national security.

I think because of his shallow, fragile ego, he wanted to surround himself with important presidential stuff to feel like he was still President.
Regardless, he's fucked either way. On June 3rd, his lawyers signed a declaration that he was no longer in possession of any classified documents. And we now know that was a lie. That's a crime. Trump is fucked.

DOJ has six months of Mar A Lago security video of the area where the stolen documents were lying around. They know who went in and out.

I don't think we'll see any video of actual Saudis at the shit hole resort, but $2 billion buys access to a lot of top secret information.

There are also documents at trump Tower NYC. Bet on it. The Chinese rent an entire floor there.

I would hope you are right about trump and national security, but I fear you are wrong. trump allowed Putin's operatives into the Oval, while keeping any American press out. He divulged Israeli intelligence to them.

If there is money in it for trump, nothing else matters to him. He met privately with Putin in Helsinki, and destroyed the translator's records. Putin has funded trump's failed businesses, as well as laundered money through same.

The reason it sounds loony, is because nobody who has ever resided in the White House was so corrupt.

Yeah, makes sense. I know Trump is capable of just about anything but I never thought he'd be so brazen (or stupid) to steal top secret documents like he did. So I guess he could've sold or was planning to sell the top secret documents.
