Putin and Xi are going to have to decide in the coming days what to do about this.

I dont have any predictions.

Blowing up dams and civilian power grids is a war crime, and the only way this maniac is going to be deterred from future aggression is to expand NATO to all emerging democracies in Eastern Europe and the Caucuses.

Russian Federation contract soldiers are drawn heavily from the autonomous republics, Siberia, the Caucuses, and I can't see why Buryats, Chechens, and Tatars would be eager to die for some theoretical concept of East Slavic Russian orthodox nationalism.

It's getting close. Handfuls of low level local leaders are calling for his ouster, and their duties are being cancelled by Putin. I'm always reading about intercepted phone communications between Russian soldiers and their families. The news is never good, and it's just a matter of time before the people revolt.

Which still does little to stop the maniac from killing women/babies. I'm waiting to see how long it takes for special units to infiltrate Russia and retaliate in kind at power plants, water supplies, etc..

How long will the world fear Putin's nuclear bluffs?

I thought Sailor was banned, and he came back as a new identity... I could very well be wrong, and he just changed identities for some other reason.

In fairness, we were all a bit delusional about Russia's military capacity. They seemed to spend a lot on the military, and their military regularly beat the shit out of each other, and we assumed that made them tough. Turns out that their spending was all going to corruption, and thugs actually make terrible soldiers.

Conversely, we all underestimated Ukraine. Putin thought most Ukrainians wanted back into Russia. He thought he had paid agents through Ukraine. It is unclear if the Ukrainians were just taking his money and providing lies in return, or whether the Russian spies were just taking the money and claiming to have Ukrainian agents.

What is clear now is the Ukrainians do not want to be part of Russia. Even the Russian speaking Ukrainians do not want to be part of Russia, with the exception of many Russian speaking Ukrainians in Crimea. The Ukrainians are innovative, hard working people willing to fight the corrupt, thuggish Russians.

All circumstantial, but Theywillneverlearn! joined JPP less than 30 minutes after Sailor was banned. I'm not a fan of such coincidences. :)

TBH, I think Sailor, like some of our other angry RWers, is in chronic pain and it makes him cranky.
