WASHINGTON — The challenge to a peaceful transfer of power after President Donald J. Trump lost the 2020 election has worsened “an extremely adverse environment” for the U.S. military, according to an open letter signed by several top generals and former defense secretaries.

The letter does not mention Mr. Trump by name. But in 16 points on the principles that are supposed to define civil-military relations, the signatories issued a thinly veiled indictment of Mr. Trump and the legions of his followers who called on the military to support his false claim that the election was stolen from him.

It would help if the Chairman of Joint Chief of Staff was not issuing illegal orders to commanders to violate the chain of command.

It would also help if those commanders did not follow illegal orders and notified the nation that illegal orders had been given.
 
Trump winning in 2016 set America down a vastly different path than the one we were on.

And a reminder - the one we were on really wasn't bad. We had more freedom and opportunity than 99.9% of people who ever lived.

But I'm curious to see if any loser in November accepts the results, on either side. Trump single-handedly destroyed election integrity in America. Can we overcome that? Who knows....
 
The Military will not be defending the Constitution, they have gone to the Dark Side.

I am pretty sure that I was the first at JPP to say so.

Elections have been poorly conducted for many years, decades really....Trump is not the problem.

No, they haven't. They're actually remarkable.

In a nation of 350 million+, it's not going to be perfect. But they track every individual instance of voter fraud, and statistically, they amount to literally nothing.

Our elections are good. Trump and his hyperbole (and being a true sore loser) ended that.

You are either stupid or lying...I will go with lying. The rest of the world looks at American elections shaking their heads that we who have over decades given so many lectures on the importance of sound elections do them so poorly.
