I think supporting opposition candidates on the theory they're more beatable while declaring in a national speech--repeatedly--that those same candidates are the greatest threat to the nation is reprehensible either way you cut it. If they're that dangerous why are the Democrats not doing everything to ensure they aren't even nominated to run for office rather than getting them on the ballot where they might just win? If they're that poor as candidates that supporting them is a virtual lock on winning, then they couldn't be some enormous threat to the nation as claimed, hell, they can't even get elected.
