Americans who worked hard to pay off student loans react to Biden's massive college d

Baby boomers and the early Gen Xers had the privilege and financial advantage of going to college when states were generally providing more support to public universities, and tuitions were relatively affordable.

Canceling 10k in debt is functionally equivalent to bringing the cost of college for millennials down to the level baby boomers enjoyed.

Communism. Unconstitutional.

Here are the details:

When the baby boomers went to college, a college degree was three times (300%) cheaper even accounting for inflation, the state governments gave more support to higher education, and back then it really was possible to work part time and put yourself through college.

Asians are about 5% of U. S. high school graduates and 23% of Harvard's freshman class.

If you go strictly by GPA and SAT scores Asians should have a higher percentage of Harvard students. However, there are other factors when admitting students. The art department, dance, music, use other measures important for their success.
The academic standards for Asians to get into Harvard are higher than anyone else. Admission should be color blind.

Penn Wharton just made this summary statement. They did an analysis of what the student loan forgiveness would cost.

https://budgetmodel.wharton.upenn.edu/issues/2022/8/23/forgiving-student-loans

We estimate that forgiving federal college student loan debt will cost between $300 billion and $980 billion over the 10-year budget window, depending on program details. About 70 percent of debt relief accrues to borrowers in the top 60 percent of the income distribution.

Depends on their field. If too many people want to go into the same fields there is not room in those departments and other areas of the school go without students. There are many other considerations. Admissions can be color blind but not limited to GPA and SAT. Those considerations are sometimes more subjective.

Similar considerations go into hiring. A person whose paper qualifications are the best might have characteristics undesirable for the job. I have been on many hiring committees and we sometimes did not bring in the very best candidate for an interview because we knew they would never take a job at a smaller school with less pay. Sometimes they just wanted a bargaining chip for their current employer by showing them other offers

Speculation. Bigotry.

Prove it by stating what field you are supposedly having application from Ivy Leaguers, but are hiring high school dropouts.

RQAA. I guess you insist on being totally mindless and asking the same question over and over. It's been answered, dumbass.

Redefinition fallacy (bigotry<->experience).
RQAA. You're going to try to deny your own argument again?

I stand by my argument which contained no bigotry. If student A wants to be a teacher and the school of education has more than enough students applying and student B wants to major in art and has an excellent portfolio but has a lower GPA and SAT than A, it makes perfect sense and is meritorious to allow B admission over A. People good in art, music, dance are important to society. You just did not understand my argument--I did not deny it.

Fallacies are not evidence or proof of anything.

You do not understand that the way the wealthy in America keep themselves on top, generationally, is by erecting barriers to prevent breaking through the class structure, student debt for poor people is one of those barriers.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, you are such an idiot. I've been telling idiots like you, for years, that occupational licenses do the exact same thing.............but you're ok with those, aren't you?
