Interesting argument - the counter would be that people in less populated states are OVER-represented right now. Particularly in the Senate.

Good. They should because otherwise they'd get steamrolled. That's why the NFL has penalties for hitting defenseless players. With no other way to adequately defend themselves the governing authority has a responsibility to them.

But doesn't the Senate give them enough cover? They get far more representation than their counterparts in more populous states.

I respect the electoral because it's our system. But it does seem outdated, and more glaringly so when we have the popular vote winner lose election after election....
