I have no problem with Voter IDs although voter impersonation is not a common problem. Some precincts don't really bother to check them because then they have to go through the entire procedure of allowing a provisional ballot. In Texas if you do not have a photo ID the state will issue an Election ID or Personal ID for free.

Voting by mail does not require a photo ID so if a person lives in an area where they have reduced the number of polls and they are worried about standing in line they can just mail it in. Some counties have gone to a single voting center because too many people did not know where their polling place was or showed up at the wrong one.

There are always some people who vote illegally--some intentionally and some unintentionally. This is usually an individual incident and not organized fraud. But it is very rare that it changes the election outcome. The only one I can think of in recent years (2018) was the guy in NC who won a House seat but the state overturned the election because of fraud.

Absentee ballots are secure and have been used by the military for decades. When I was in the service or flying, I always voted by mail or early. It's secure as proved by the numerous court cases on the subject.
