Hours later, Norah O’Donnell of CBS News said that a DOJ official told that the former president’s passports were not in their possession

According to a DOJ official, the FBI is NOT in possession of former President Trump's passports. Trump had accused the FBI of stealing his three passports during the search of his Mar-a-Lago home.

You and I could build a website and make tons of cash off fucking morons and the insane by pushing conspiracy theories. Better if we quote Donald Trump stating those same conspiracy theories. We could photoshop some people into pics with Trump and claim it's us. The fucking morons can't tell the difference no matter how shitty the photoshop. LOL

However, that would be a breach of good ethics since it's dishonest. That said, there are plenty of dishonest people making a ton of cash off all the RW rhetoric.

In the end, I expect the rich to be richer and the poor to be in prison. 1/6 is an excellent example of this. The violent militias will go to prison and the white collar lawyers and politicians will get wrist slaps such as home arrest for a year or two.

Oh I disagree dutch

The likes of Lindsey Gramm and Gulianni are headed for prison

Guilanni's best defense is to plead insanity and go hang out in the mental home with the other NY mobster bosses.

Lindsey will retire fat, dumb and happy then die painlessly at home in his sleep from a heart attack.* :)

Washington(CNN) A federal judge in Atlanta has denied GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham's motion to quash a subpoena, ruling that he must testify before a Fulton County grand jury investigating former President Donald Trump's efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election in Georgia.

In her written decision on Monday, US District Judge Leigh Martin May sent the case to the Superior Court of Fulton County to hear further proceedings on the US Constitution's "Speech or Debate" clause, the centerpiece that Graham's attorneys argued immunized the US senator from South Carolina from having to testify in this case.

Georgia officials spar with Sen. Lindsey Graham over alleged ballot tossing comments
Graham denied that he was suggesting that legally cast ballots should be thrown out.

He called a couple of other states too

Sounds fishy alright but I doubt he crossed the line enough to warrant prosecution.

"What I heard was basically discussions about absentee ballots, and if a - potentially - if there was a percentage of signatures that weren't really, truly matching, is there some point when you get to where you can say, if somebody went to the courtroom, could say, 'Let’s throw out all these ballots because we have no way of knowing because the ballots are separate.' And that was part partially what was going on," Sterling said. "I could see how Sen. Graham viewed it one way and Secretary Raffensperger viewed it one way. But, you know, our job in this state has to follow the law and follow the process as we continue to do. There's no physical ability for this office to do anything along those lines."

Raffensperger told the Post he’s faced rising pressure from fellow Republicans who want to see Democrat Joe Biden’s narrow lead in the state reversed. Nearly 5 million votes were cast in the presidential election in Georgia, and Biden was leading President Donald Trump by about 14,000 votes. His comments came as election officials across the state were working to complete a hand recount of votes in the presidential race.

When Georgia voters return an absentee ballot, they have to sign an oath on an outer envelope. County election office workers are required to ensure the signature matches the one on the absentee ballot application and the one in the voter registration system, Raffensperger said in a statement over the weekend.

He tried to help steal an election

Prison is where he belongs

Hillary violated classified material protocols, but she was smart enough to know how wide the line was. Same for Lindsey. My guess is he'll be fine. Rudy and the rest of Team Crazy not so much.

Otherwise, it's an illegal seizure of property.

You cannot argue that in court, because passports are the property of the US Government. The US Government cannot be accused of seizing their own property.

did they just prevent him from leaving the country?

They have returned the passports immediately, and passports are not needed to leave the country. They are needed to return to the USA.

The warrant did not give the FBI the power to seize documents such as passports.

The warrant gave them access to the passports, but the property laws gave them the right to take the passports. The passports belong to the US Government, so the US Government may do whatever they want with them. trump should be grateful that they were returned promptly, because the US Government has no obligation to do so with their property.

One defense counter is pointing out the illegal confiscation of personal property.

Not his property, so there is no legal argument here. The US Government took their property, and then gave him back their property. There is no legal doubt here.

Federal law requires that US citizens be granted a hearing before their passports are revoked.

The passports were not revoked.

A passport at all times remains the property of the United States and must be returned to the U.S. Government upon demand.
