Eric Trump, the second son of the former president, said his family is in possession of surveillance tapes of the FBI raid at Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida, and this footage will "absolutely" be released "at the right time."

Perfect. Now the DOJ is asking that the affidavit NOT be unsealed and made public. Translated, they found nothing and have to create an excuse for sending in 30 armed agents into Melania's panty drawer.
 
They don't want to have to release the fact that they made misrepresentations to the magistrate in order to get an overly broad warrant that allowed them to do document fishing. It was to look for anything that might apply to 1/6. It's a sign that they know the 1/6 investigation isn't working and they are getting desperate.

Translation, the DoJ doesn't want to have to spend thousands of hours and the FBI resources tracking down and arresting the people that make the threats that will be made against those who provided evidence in the affidavit.

The real question is why hasn't Trump released the complete tapes? Oh.. that's right.. it will show that Trump was keeping classified documents in violation of Federal law.

The affidavit should of course not be released. There is an ongoing investigation and releasing the affidavit will likely reveal the source of the information. Trump can release whatever he wants from the LEGALLY CONDUCTED SEARCH.
