There will always be a need for a balance of views in our government. At this point, the Republican Party is a threat to the United States, not an asset. The longer they continue to support an autocracy which strips Americans of their rights, then the longer they are thugs, not American conservatives.

It's about 180 years ago that the Republican Party began as a third party against the Whigs.

I think the Libertarian Party can grow into the void with common sense conservatism and an emphasis in individual rights.
