Should conservatives start a new country?

Had we had this mentality when I was a kid, we still would have yellow fever, polio, small pox, and a whole number of other diseases. but thanks to medical science they were eliminated
It isn't up to a President to force untested medical procedures on the population. That is fascism.

They don't seem to align w/ American values anymore.

1) They believe a President is above the law. Really - they want more of a monarchy. They've argued for over a year that we're "not a democracy."
2) They don't believe in the rule of law in general
3) They don't believe in the 4th Estate, which was dear to the founders
4) They don't believe in personal freedom - or at least for women, and for individuals to be able to self-identify in terms of gender and sexuality
5) They no longer really want elections. That's under the guise of "we can't trust them," but really, they know with changing demographics that it's hard to win them now

The list could really go on & on. They just don't seem to like America, or what we're about. A new country would allow them to pollute like crazy, restrict freedoms, discriminate, shoot guns all the time, force women to carry a fetus against their will, tell all of the lies that they want without any media watchdog - it could be a dreamy place for them.

They certainly act like they're in a separate country.

You had people in California wanting to secede post the 2016 election. You have liberals on this board calling for America to split onto new countries, blue and red.

Boards like this are a mind fvxk after awhile. Sometimes taking a step back and reliving ourselves of our partisan and tribal daily mindset can be very therapeutic and allows us to see a bigger picture.

And to me there’s an element of irony in how we talk about democracy yet so much of our focus is on the President, and every single thing they do. Don’t get me wrong, I understand the importance of the Presidency but people treat them like they are the almighty and ruling king. It’s crazy

Good perspective, and you're not wrong. I appreciate the rationality.

The President is an inordinate focus - but whoever it is does tend to be the face of the party, or movement. In Trump's case, he genuinely frightens me, in a way that no previous American leader has (in the modern era). I think he'd tear this country down if it served his ego, and I really don't want him to get another chance at that.

Those vaccines were tested for years, not forced upon a bunch of frightened sheep.

Nope the polio vaccine was not tested for years, it was tested for one year , on April 12, 1955, researchers announced the vaccine was safe and effective and it quickly became a standard part of childhood immunizations in America.

As to smallpox vaccine On May 14, 1796, Jenner took fluid from a cowpox blister and scratched it into the skin of James Phipps, an eight-year-old boy. A single blister rose up on the spot, but James soon recovered. On July 1, Jenner inoculated the boy again, this time with smallpox matter, and no disease developed. The vaccine was a success. Doctors all over Europe soon adopted Jenner’s innovative technique, leading to a drastic decline in new sufferers of the devastating disease.

Does the polio vaccine prevent infection and transmission of polio?

Inactivated poliovirus vaccine (IPV) protects people against all three types of poliovirus. IPV does not contain live virus, so people who receive this vaccine do not shed the virus and cannot infect others, and the vaccine cannot cause disease. IPV does not stop transmission of the virus.
