The Mar-a-Lago search proves Garland isn’t afraid to investigate Trump

Trump and his cronies might be surprised that the rule of law actually applies to former presidents. Trump never seemed to grasp the concept that the law restrains him in any fashion. For the more sober-minded Republicans, the search warrant should be yet another sign that this will not end well for the former president and his underlings.

For what crime? I thought you guys had him dead to rights for inciting an insurrection? Where are we at with that?

They have to present probable cause for a search like this - and it had to be approved. And the bar was much higher because it's an ex-President.

They don't announce what that is to the media.

But we'll find out soon enough.

National Archives already reported that Trump stole US documents. I am certain Trump was asked to hand them over. Why he refused is still a mystery.

Nixon chose to resign because his party told him it was the best way out.
The GOP today is the opposite. They are attacking the heart of government and threatening the DOJ and the FBI. God have mercy on our nation if Trump stays free.

This time I suspect the "infamy" will be boomeranging back on the Joke administration and FBI. If all they took were documents, why the raid? Why not subpoena them and negotiate to get them? There was no urgency in this, so why the warrant?

DOJ has been talking with Trump lawyers. I suspect Trump's team refused to cooperate.

If by "cooperate" you mean cave in to all their demands unconditionally, I can see that. This administration has definitely made a hard Left turn into authoritarian dictatorship territory...
