Curious, how much did wages inflate over the same period? Was it equal to the rate of inflation, or less? Because if it's less than the rate of inflation, then you're not talking about inflation, you're talking about price gouging because inflation affects every dollar the same.

So if "inflation" is 9.1%, but wages only inflated by 5%, you have 4.1% that is unaccountable and can only be attributed to price gouging and greed.

Inflation affects every dollar equally and the true measure of inflation is whatever the lowest common denominator for growth is, which in this case is 5% growth on wages.

Anything above wage inflation is price gouging and greed.
