Senate Democrats strike a blow against cynicism — and hopelessness

We know for fact that the pentagon has an annual budget of $1 trillion while Build Back Better gets a onetime payout of $500 billion.

Pentagon administrative bloat, gross corruption and incompetence at procurement is a whole nother kettle of fish.

All the GOP does is dirty our environment, put more guns on the streets that murder our children, and take right's of women back to the time of the Spanish Inquisition. That fact you're ok with that, demonstrates what an ignorant, evil douche you are.

You're welcome.

Douche.
What does the GOP have to do with Biden's failure to pass anything that actually helps the American people?

Here you go, loser. Stick this up your ignorant ass:

Offers universal and free preschool for all 3- and 4-year-olds, the largest expansion of universal and free education since states and communities across the country established public high school 100 years ago.

Makes the largest investment in child care in the nation’s history, saving most American families more than half of their spending on child care.

Delivers affordable, high-quality care for older Americans and people with disabilities in their homes, while supporting the workers who provide this care.

Provides 39 million households up to $3,600 (or $300 per month) in tax cuts per child by extending the American Rescue Plan’s expanded Child Tax Credit.

The largest effort to combat climate change in American history:

Delivers substantial consumer rebates and tax credits to reduce costs for middle class families shifting to clean energy and electrification.

Ensures clean energy technology – from wind turbine blades to solar panels to electric cars – will be built in the United States with American made steel and other materials, creating hundreds of thousands of good jobs here at home.

Advances environmental justice through a new Clean Energy and Sustainability Accelerator that will invest in projects around the country, while delivering 40% of the benefits of investment to disadvantaged communities, as part of the President’s Justice40 initiative.

Bolsters resilience and natural solutions to climate change through a historic investment in coastal restoration, forest management, and soil conservation.

The biggest expansion of affordable health care in a decade:

Reduces prescription drug costs.

Strengthens the Affordable Care Act and reduces premiums for 9 Million Americans.

Closes the Medicaid Coverage Gap, Leading 4 Million Uninsured People to Gain Coverage.

Expands Medicare to cover hearing benefits.

The most significant effort to bring down costs and strengthen the middle class in generations:

Makes the single largest and most comprehensive investment in affordable housing in history.

Extends the expanded Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) for around 17 million low-wage workers.

Expands access to affordable, high-quality education beyond high school.

Promotes nutrition security to support children’s health.

Strengthens the middle class through a historic investment in equity, safety, and fairness.

Invests in immigration reform.

The Build Back Better framework is fully paid for:
Combined with savings from repealing the Trump Administration’s rebate rule, the plan is fully paid for by asking more from the very largest corporations and the wealthiest Americans. The 2017 tax cut delivered a windfall to them, and this would help reverse that—and invest in the country’s future. No one making under $400,000 will pay a penny more in taxes.

Specifically, the framework:

Stops large, profitable corporations from paying zero in tax and tax corporations that buyback stock rather than invest in the company.

Stops rewarding corporations for shipping jobs and profits overseas.

Asks the highest income Americans to pay their fair share.

Invests in enforcing our existing tax laws, so the wealthy pay what they owe.
It all sounds good in theory but I want to know exactly which prescription drug cost are reduced. And why is the tax cut off at $400,000? I would hope that those making $1/4 million a year should pay their fair share in taxes too. But they're the base of democrat donors.

And they strike a harder blow against the American people (but not the 1%ers), huge cuts in Medicare (like they accuse the GOP of wanting to do only they ACTUALLY do it) and those of humble means hardest of all.

And extend the recession (or perhaps depression) to do it.

Why do the democrats hate Americans ? Why would ANY American vote for one ? THey hurt every demographic except the 1%.

Think about that in November.

I don't buy it. The working class pay a much higher percent of their income in taxes. Someone making $50,000 could pay 35%.

I do buy it. As you make more money, the percent taxes goes up, until you hit about $400k, and then it starts dropping again. That being said, even a comparatively small percent taxes on someone in poverty is incredibly harsh. Poverty is the inability to sustain a standard of living, so they are already too poor to sustain themselves.

Something like 40% of American children live in poverty. Have you been to the inner city?

I was a volunteer financial advisor for a charity in Philadelphia. I actually helped people in poverty run their numbers.

Biden brought down child poverty recently, but the laws are expiring, so it will snap back up. We now know we could nearly eliminate child poverty, for amazingly little, but chose not to.

Dems threw a few scraps to the peasants. They need voters to forget that the CARES act was the largest upward transfer of wealth in history. Lest we forget that Biden passed a bipartisan infrastructure bill that privatizes our public utilities.

Given estimates that Republican policies since Reagan have redistributed $50 trillion+ to the rich, it's probably not the largest. As for the rest, we didn't elect enough progressives. We have Democrats doing better than expected, just shy of enough for passing things.

In a democracy, cynicism is the enemy of progress and realism is progress’s friend. A realistic view would insist that what happened in the U.S. Senate on Sunday is a big deal.

On a straight partisan vote, Democrats approved the largest investment in history to fight climate change married to first steps toward controlling prescription drug costs and helping Americans buy health insurance.

In addition to that, the stage has been drawn as a result of identifying the friend of America and the seditious enemy of America from within at democrats delivering toward the best interests of U.S. society and humanity. This while all repukes made it perfectly clear they are no friends of America at being more of a enemy against the U.S. than any foreign enemy in the world as a mob of taxpayer pilfering and seditious domestic terrorist. Additionally, repukes who have sold their worthless souls to tRump, the devil and other elements of the down low sewer should be considered the number one enemy of the State.

You don't give a fuck about "which prescription drugs" are reduced. You can barely spell, "prescription drugs". No, I just showed you what's in the program. Now that you've been shown, you have no idea what to do. Why? Because you're a stupid troll and you only plan one step ahead. You didn't expect anyone to actually show you what was in the plan, and now you're flailing because you didn't plan your next lie in advamce.

Poor, stupid troll.
