Thought the subject appropriate in this thread. The whole idea of systemic racism is not new. It’s been around a long time. But it gained renewed awareness post George Floyd and America’s “racial reckoning”. (Living where I do and following a number of black writers/commentators it’s possible I read/come across these arguments far more than others so it’s on the brain)

Is it just an interest of yours? Why do you follow this topic so closely? Does it have to do with your work? I agree you are very well versed on this topic.

I'm not sure TBH. I guess growing up in Oakland and playing basketball I hung around a lot of black people. (I used to get asked why I thought I was black simply for that reason). I went to what today would be called a very woke High School. I attended several Black Student Union meetings just because. So this was all stuff I was exposed too. And today I'm friends with a lot of the people I grew up with on social media so I regularly see posts on Facebook talking about black power, the Black Panther Party and its history and all kinds of racial stuff.

Now all the above can be true and it doesn't mean I have to follow it like I do. My work has nothing to do with racial issues like this. I'm not sure why I follow it so passionately.

I do believe that homogeneous cultures have far more solidarity that heterogeneous ones.

1. Your priorities are fucked up beyond rational belief, and I don’t think they’ve changed significantly in a half century.

2. When you pick the issues that are dear to you, you always prioritize them as #1…ALL OF THEM.

3. All of your issues are beyond solution. Racism, poverty, “inequality”, climate change. Face it, there’s no political solution for that stuff, and still you run on it, and blame the GOP for it all.

4. You usually run all your crap after a successful GOP administration, when jackasses are fat, dumb and engorged on white guilt. You idiots always think that’s the time to redistribute the wealth.
