Will Trump run as an independent if he doesn't get the GOP presidential nomination?

And if he does, can he win or will he split the right vote and give the election to the Dems to punish the reps who didn't support him?

The Florida Holocaust Museum condemned the waving of antisemitic flags outside a conservative conference attended by former President Donald Trump, on Saturday.

Protesters gathered outside the Tampa Convention Center with Nazi flags, swastikas, the SS logo, and antisemitic caricatures of Jews, while the Turning Point USA Student Action Summit was taking place.

Turning Point USA told Insider that the group was not connected to the event.

What do you think Trump would do if he lost the Republican primary.

Claim fraud for sure, and his supporters would very likely to continue to believe him.
 
I seriously doubt it. Running as an independent takes lots of money--mostly your own money--and that's something Trump isn't going to fork over regardless of what he says.

He has tuns Of other peoples money in his PAC’s and campaign war chest. He can take that for an independent run if he wants.

Sure he'll claim fraud but that won't stop him from running. Does anybody think he'll idly sit by while others campaign for the presidency?
I don't. There'll be enough aides and supporters in his ear coaxing him to run as independent, convincing him he'd win. He knows it's his last chance to run for POTUS. He'll be too old in 2028. This is Donald trump's we're talking about. He needs to be in the spotlight to feed his enormous ego. Losing the Rep nomination won't stop him from running. He thinks he's destined to return to the WH.

What do you think his Odds are of winning the GOP nomination? Methinks DeSantis is the frontrunner at this point. The J6 hearings has really damaged Trump's brand.

He will do whatever feeds his ego most, unless they can scare him into believing he will suffer further bruising to his ego, then he will make up some excuse.

Just think about how bad he wants to get back in the White House. It's killing him. And he knows 2024 is his last chance. His groveling supporters will convince him he can win. This scenario is more likely than people realize.

I know it's free speech but it's still appalling that this is happening in America.

He cannot win as an independent. So far he has failed to win the popular vote in two presidential elections so it is unlikely he can win as a Republican.

I agree, but it depends on who runs, Trump wouldn’t have won if the non-Trump lane had not been so crowded for so long.

The popular vote does not win elections.

He won the electoral vote in 2016 and no one cares who wins the popular vote. It does not count
 
Trump is not an idiot, independents can not win because the two parties collude to prevent this as they control ballot access.

You can win the electoral vote without winning the popular vote, but it is rare and unlikely to happen a second time to the same candidate. So, winning the popular vote is usually necessary to become president. You can't win a state's electoral votes without winning its popular votes.
