Greg Abbott Silent as Electric Power Grid Operator Urges Texans To Turn Off Appliance

What time zone are you in? I'm in central and my post #129 is time stamped. Yesterday, 04:56 PM When you are running up to 97% of your functional capacitance you sure as hell aren't "throttling back" your wind turbines that is just DUMB

It seems your computer is having problems telling time correctly and must be set to PT which is the default for Windows. If your post was at 4:56 then my post 118 would have been at 1:30CT which would be impossible since I was not anywhere near a computer from 12 CT to 3 CT yesterday. However I was back at a computer at about 3:10 CT.

The current time as I post this is 9:25 CT

Fuck, you're truly a tenacious little cunt!!

He's like a dog with a bone and a particularly mangy one at that.
He doesn't get that wind doesn't alway blow so it has to be backed up by another form of generation that can be turned on when needed to backup the wind. I'm not opposed to wind because it isn't burning up our finite supply of fossil fuels but it has its place.

While trying to show out- You really go out of your way to go after me personally to make something negative here about my comment!

BUT, as usual- YOU FAIL!

Nah. Nothing personal. You are just celebrating the devastation of your lawn and sweltering in your own house equipped with a perfectly functional air conditioning.
If that's what you want to do, enjoy. It's YOUR problem.

Why are so anal about this?????!?

Not really. Wind is the 2nd most expensive method of producing electricity, watt for watt. As you just noted, it's unreliable as well.
Fossils are not used for fuel. Fossils don't burn.

Texas uses primarily natural gas, oil, and coal. Both natural gas and oil are renewable fuels. Coal is unknown, but it's plentiful.

. fossil fuel is a hydrocarbon-containing material formed naturally in the earth's crust from the remains of dead plants and animals that is extracted and burned as a fuel. The main fossil fuels are coal, crude oil and natural gas.

fossil fuel, any of a class of hydrocarbon-containing materials of biological origin occurring within Earth’s crust that can be used as a source of energy.

I get that just fine that wind has to be backed up. Just like all electrical generation has to be backed up because any of it can fail. It's you that is complaining about wind failing so are you sure you understand that wind has to be backed up. One way to back up wind is to get electric from wind turbines where the wind is blowing. That would require being connected to a larger grid so you can do that. Something Texas failed to do. It seems you now want to argue the opposite of what you argued earlier.

Does wind need to be backed up? How do you propose to back up wind?
Texas certainly should have learned that gas power electrical generation can fail and needs to be backed up. Did they learn that? It would seem not as we see the same problem with Texas in that they didn't plan for back up. The simplest back up is to arrange to buy from someone else if what you have fails.

Hey, it is hotter today in Dallas, Texas than anywhere along the equator around the world.

Isn't the equator supposed to be the hottest place on Earth?

You have the microphone! 1 2 3 GO!

The very fact that wind generatio has to be backed means it’s expensive. You don’t HAVE to backup like you do with wind. Fossil fuel generation on its own is much more reliable than wind generation on its own.

Connecting to a larger grid does not increase reliability.

The Sun is also not currently directly over the equator. It's tracking near the northern tropic line at the moment. He seems to be geometry challenged.

If this dumb-ass Texas governor had spent taxpayers money on upgrading the Texas power grid instead of border wall/security, which was no more than grand standing, you not have this power grid problem?!! Vote him out!

Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott is once again presiding over another energy crisis in the state that produces more natural gas than any other in the nation, but he hasn’t said a word. As temperatures rise the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), which is in charge of Texas’ electricity – its power grid – is urging customers to turn off appliances, turn up their thermostats, and conserve energy.

In the winter of 2021 hundreds of Texans died because the grid failed. It couldn’t stand the cold temperatures.
There is now a possible danger of blackouts because, it seems, it can’t stand hot temperatures. On Monday The Dallas Morning News offered advice on “ .”

KLTV reports “ERCOT is asking Texans and Texas businesses to voluntarily conserve electricity, Monday, July 11 between 2-8 p.m. ERCOT also issued a Watch for a projected reserve capacity shortage from 2-8 p.m.” The ABC affiliate also says ERCOT is urging Texans to postpone running major appliances and turn their thermostats up to save energy.

the problem is how much must money was wasted on idiotic west texas windmills.

green energy is gay.
