Yeah, I knew the lame old "Good guy with a gun" crap wasn't far off....

Nope.
Schools are all gun free zones.
Until this fact is internalized and addressed our most vulnerable will continue to be slaughtered.

You are wrong. Many schools now have armed officers stationed in them. Arming teachers is a ridiculous and unworkable idea.

4. Luke 11:21 “When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own house, his possessions are undisturbed.

5. Psalm 18:34 He trains my hands for battle; he strengthens my arm to draw a bronze bow.

Jesus: “You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’ But I say to you, Do not resist the one who is evil. But if anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also."

Wrong but you go with that.

Las Vegas -- armed band members who hid in fear in their camper
Uvalde -- armed school officer
Kirkwood City Hall massacre -- 2007, armed police officers
Sante Fe, TX -- armed school officers
Marshall County High School, KY -- ditto
Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, FL -- ditto
Great Mills High School, MD -- ditto
Buffalo NY grocery store -- armed security officer (killed by shooter)
Pulse Nightclub, FL -- armed security officer (sued by victims' families for failure to act)

The 'Good Guys With Guns' Keep Failing to Stop Mass Shootings

As I said, if a good guy with a gun actually gets the shooter, it's pretty rare.

Thanks for proving that the police are not the good guys.
LMFAO @ Owl Lady.

It would just be a matter of time before some armed teacher accidentally shot a student. Or a student got ahold of a teacher's gun and shot someone with it.

Having guns in schools anywhere but in the holsters of school resource officers, is beyond stupid.

Again, counting on the largest criminal gang to protect you is a recipe for failure.

But you don't have to worry because your husband has 2 guns right?

If armed resource officers could stop school shootings we wouldn't be having this discussion.

Absolutely, I agree. Those who advocate for a world where everyone carries a lethal weapon are insane.

Yet you think that untrained teachers could do better than trained officers.

I think the assumption is that an 8 - 10 hour training course would turn them all into Clint Eastwoods.

What makes anyone think armed teachers could do so?
If a 22 year old kid could do it a former marine science teacher could do it too. My son's biology teacher was a former marine. I had several teachers that were ex military. My band teacher had a BKA from WWII. Teaching is a common second career for former military people. We could also hire them for security officers.

Which is about vengeance. I do have to laugh when atheist liberals start quoting the bible though.

This Texas school began arming teachers with guns in 2007. More than 170 other districts have followed.

Keene ISD goes a step further, Stephens said, requiring 80 hours of initial training and 40 hours annually after that....Districts with school marshals are regulated by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement, which develops the 80-hour police-style training employees take every two years. The training includes a mental health evaluation and firearms proficiency requirements.

Many LEOs and school security officers are veterans.

Relatively few teachers could or would. If only one in ten or even twenty wanted to and recieved proper training schools would be safer. Best thing that Uvalde could have done is follow proper security procedures. This could have been avoided just that easily.
