"California's Answer to Gun Violence Could Be a Model for the Entire Country"

"In 2020, the most recent year that data is available, more than 45,000 people died from gun-related injuries, according to the Pew Research Center; that’s a 14% increase from the previous year, 25% increase from five years ago, and a 43% increase from a decade ago."

"As numbers climb nationwide, California has a completely opposite trend. For more than 20 years—except for two years during the pandemic—the Golden State’s rate of firearm violence has consistently decreased. California has one of the lowest firearm mortality rates in the country. Its residents are less likely to die from a gunshot than almost anywhere else in the country, and are 25% less likely to die in a mass shooting."

And what are those measures California has taken:
"Assault Weapons: California law strictly prohibits assault weapons. This includes possessing, distributing, selling and manufacturing assault weapons."

"Red Flag Law: California became one of the first states in the nation to enact a red flag law in 2016."

"Waiting Period: California has a waiting period of 10 days for all gun purchases."

"Universal Background Checks: California requires background checks on all gun purchases and transfers, including private transfers and sales at gun shows."

"Mental Health Reporting: California has some of the nation’s strongest laws preventing those with serious mental illness from acquiring firearms"

"Age Restrictions: In California, you must be at least 21 years of age to purchase firearms."

And it is not only California:

"States With Strong Laws See Less Gun Violence"

And these are the very same States that contained the supposed "blue run shitholes," imagine that

All the reality you won't get on Fox

^ Eminently reasonable gun regulation.

completely unreasonable and we will not comply

You have no constitutional right - none, nada, zilch - to acquire high capacity ammo magazines, to evade a criminal background check and ten day waiting periods, evade red flag laws, or to acquire weaponry if there is evidence you have mental health issues.

From the idiots who made shoplifting, public defecation and theft legal.
Don't forget not having to disclose AIDS.
There is a reason people are flooding out of California.

I absolutely do and you will not infringe upon it.

Now, this is where I have to make a choice: do I drive to a more gun friendly state, buy my gun, and drive back to the blue shithole I live in, or do I pack up all my guns and gear and move OUT of the blue shithole completely because I'm definitely planning on buying more guns. Hey! I just realized the same thing works for abortion!! Look at me! I'm pro-choice!!

Californias AWB and standard capacity mag ban to be ruled unconstitutional by end of year.

Judge Benitez ordered supplemental arguments upon remand from 9th circuit after Bruen. CA asked for at least 1 year to 'research' the necessary historical relevance to have an AWB. Benitez denied and gave both sides 45 days to submit, afterwards taking 15 days to rule.

What a way to celebrate Xmas, with the first of many AWBs being ruled unconstitutional.
