Voters of color are backing the GOP at historic levels

Largely the Hispanic vote, however, it is still a small difference, like saying a hitter made historic improvement cause he upped his batting average from 150 to 175

Proof that religion can dumb people down.

Are you saying out loud what Democrats have often thought? That minorities are dumb but we love them as long as they vote for us? (because it’s not like a bunch of black and Hispanic people went from being atheists to religious in a couple of years.)

No. Latinos have always been conservative. And they buy into the Catholic Church propaganda.

To me, so many people act like political parties are these static things and that voters are static and vote the same way their entire life. That's just not the case.

Since 2016, Democrats have won higher percentages of college educated whites (especially women) than they traditionally have and Republicans have made progress with minority voters. We'll see what the polls say after the midterms.

When we examine more recent 2022 polling, we see that men are backing generic Republican House candidates by an average of 9 points. Women are supporting generic Democratic House candidates by an average of 7 points. That makes for a 16-point gender gap.

In 2018 and 2020, the divide between men and women was about 21 points, according to Catalist and exit poll data.
The shift here, while relatively small, is notable for two connected reasons.

The first is that it does not seem like the US Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade has divided men and women more than they previously had been in terms of voting patterns.

The second is that women, even after the high court's decision, seem to be supporting Republican candidates more than they have in recent years. You'd have to go back to the 2014 cycle -- a good one for the GOP -- to see women backing Republican candidates at higher levels than they are now.

I didn't say they're dumb. Nice try.

Ok. You're saying these same religious folks who have been regularly voting Democratic have all of a sudden been dumbed down by their religion? Not a rhetorical question, what is their religion doing differently now that it hadn't been doing previously?

Majority is Catholic. And the GOP is supposedly pro-life and pro-God. Not hard to figure out. They are voting against their own interests.

Hispanics in America didn't just become religious in the past two years. They've been religious the entire time they've been voting Democratic (same with black people). But now, out of the blue, more of them are leaning or voting Republican because of religion?

What changed in the religious world then that caused this?

Trump I guess. :dunno: I cannot fathom why they would support him.

It is not really historical levels for blacks since they voted heavily Republican until about 1934.

The article isn't about Trump, it's about the GOP. When people vote in the midterms they aren't voting for Trump, they are voting for their Congressional representative or Senator (or both).

Are you saying or suggesting the Catholic Church came out with some global proclamation that more Hispanics (pardon me, LatinX) need to vote Republican? Because I'm not following what religion has to do here. Hispanics have traditionally been more socially conservative but that hasn't stopped them from voting Democratic. And they still are, just not in as large of numbers as the past.

These minority voters aren't stupid. They recognize that Democrat, progressive, radical, leftist, values will just fuck them over, so they're voting such assholes out of office.

Um take a look at the picture. What do you see?

Stigma is a phenomena in America.

First of all, most white people think that Mexicans, in general, are just a bunch of minimum wage low rent workers who swam the Rio Grand and hopped the fence just to get here.

Far from the truth my friends!

There are 1,000's of Mexican Millionaires that live in Dallas Texas alone. They own some of the nicest properties and largest companies in the city. They own some odd 50,000 restaurants in the just the North Texas area. Mexicans own Just about every kind of Construction Business and all kinds of businesses in the Service Industry, Grocery stores, Beauty Salons, Clothing stores, Meat Markets, Cattle Ranches, Farms, and just about any kind of business that you can even name are owned by very successful Mexican business owners.

Business owners and their families tend to vote Republican- probably due to another old unproven Stigma that Republicans are best for business! HEY! WE ARE ALL HUMANS HERE! Subject to err!

But even given all of that, overall, in 2020 Mexicans across America voted 2-to 1 for Biden over Trump- and they voted in record numbers!

And I did not intend to leave Blacks out of the discussion, as they own many businesses as well and many of them vote Republican as well.

Hey more power to them, but the majority of Mexicans, Blacks, AND WHITES are not business owners and rather just good ole hard working Americans that tend to vote Democrat because they feel that Democrats have their best interests in mind!
