Greg Abbott Silent as Electric Power Grid Operator Urges Texans To Turn Off Appliance

If this dumb-ass Texas governor had spent taxpayers money on upgrading the Texas power grid instead of border wall/security, which was no more than grand standing, you not have this power grid problem?!! Vote him out!

Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott is once again presiding over another energy crisis in the state that produces more natural gas than any other in the nation, but he hasn’t said a word. As temperatures rise the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), which is in charge of Texas’ electricity – its power grid – is urging customers to turn off appliances, turn up their thermostats, and conserve energy.

In the winter of 2021 hundreds of Texans died because the grid failed. It couldn’t stand the cold temperatures.
There is now a possible danger of blackouts because, it seems, it can’t stand hot temperatures. On Monday The Dallas Morning News offered advice on “ .”

KLTV reports “ERCOT is asking Texans and Texas businesses to voluntarily conserve electricity, Monday, July 11 between 2-8 p.m. ERCOT also issued a Watch for a projected reserve capacity shortage from 2-8 p.m.” The ABC affiliate also says ERCOT is urging Texans to postpone running major appliances and turn their thermostats up to save energy.

Hello ThatOwlWoman,

It's definitely the fault of all those liberal TX cities sucking the juice right out of the grid.

It's all those poor people living in trailers with window shakers.

If only they would just get big money and buy mansions like normal people...

Don't worry about Texas we will be fine. Worry about California

May 6 (Reuters) - California energy officials on Friday issued a sober forecast for the state's electrical grid, saying it lacks sufficient capacity to keep the lights on this summer and beyond if heatwaves, wildfires or other extreme events take their toll.

Too bad they spent all that money on border efforts.

I bet a lot of those immigrants wanting in would be happy to work on creating a better power grid.

They would probably like nothing more than to be good law-abiding citizens and be happy to pay taxes and pay into the Social Security System.

Not an argument or talking point that scores points in debate:

"Sure Texas sucks! But California sucks just as bad!"
I live in Texas and we are doing just fine. All the Liberals want to point at Texas but ignore the problems in California . The fact is the move away from Coal to wind and solar has made the grid less reliable. California is in bad shape because problems with their transmission lines and because lack of capacity.

Well, Texas should be using reliable sources of power, not wind and solar--particularly wind in Texas' case.
Yes we have been making a larger percentage of the grid in solar and wind. And we have reduced coal so solar is only good 50% of the time at most. And the wind isn't always available. We haven't built a nuke since Comanche Peak so the grid is getting less reliable. Now with the war on fossil fuel natural gas is getting more expensive.

If we were moving to natural gas and nuclear we could have a stable, reliable, and plentiful electrical grid with low cost electricity. Solar and wind will drive the price of power up just as it has done in EVERY country where it has been widely used. And it will make the grid less stable.

Wind in recent days has often been producing less than 10% of capacity....that's interesting. Solar has also been doing poorly.

Yes the Green Energy crowd doesn't understand that.

Notice how little the truth matters to so many now. This is the definition of a dark age, where people live in their fantasies rather than reality, by choice.

The consequences are always and will always be pain.
