What are both sides of the Holocaust?

Hate to tell you but there were two sides to the Holocaust, one side was told by memoires like Anne Frank and the survivors. Your ref was nothing but liberal rock throwing.

What rock throwing? I created this thread to inform people about the latest trend to minimize the Holocaust.

And if you're correct about those two sides, then why in the hell did they want to pass the law for teachers to teach both sides? Makes no sense.

Not exactly comparable. The Times didn't have reporters at the camps. It had sporadic unverified reports and the paper had been burned by stories of atrocities that turned out to be false during fighting in Spain a few years earlier.
Nevertheless dozens of articles of the genocide appeared in the Times, though on inside pages, during the war years. Once the allies reached the camps and incidents of the Holocaust were finally exposed the story became headline news.

Weak excuses. Even after the war, the holocaust was barely mentioned.

The Leftist cover up of the holocaust and FDR's rejection of Jewish refugees needs to be taught.

Translation: Forget the Nuremberg Trials ever happened.

LOL Well, that's exactly what all the Nazi fuckwits want people to believe. :rofl2:

Only a total ass hole would use one of the most despicable episodes in history to throw some political rocks. Ass wipe
Your mother must be so proud of you. Here is just one reminder of the Holocaust toll.

You call that proof.? I don't see 6 million bodies there. And i don't know where that pic is from. A movie??

"bill sponsor said in a recent interview that educators should teach “German soldiers’” perspective of the Holocaust." They should. Not every German soldier was a Nazi.

By citing ultra left wing sources. Love your fair and balanced reporting. Why are you lefties so afraid to look at the Holocaust from both sides? Is it the anti-semitism of your Muslim members of congress?

Why teach both sides of the Civil war? It adds a perspective to the topic many people miss.

Again I ask, what are the both sides to the Holocaust?

The Nazi side and the Murdered side, mostly Jews. 6M murdered Jews and 5M Gypsies, disabled, communists, Socialists, etc. The Nazi side was to create a more perfect human race through Eugenics...just like Trump favors with his "Horse Race Theory".

It appears several on JPP sympathize with the poor, poor fucking Nazis because they also sympathize with the idea of White Supremacy. All the brown people scare Nazis, White Supremacists and Trumpians alike.

During the era of the Holocaust, German authorities also targeted and killed other groups, including at times their children, because of their perceived racial and biological inferiority: Roma View This Term in the Glossary (Gypsies), Germans with disabilities, and some of the Slavic peoples (especially Poles and Russians). Other groups were persecuted on political, ideological, and behavioral grounds, among them Communists, Socialists, Jehovah's Witnesses, and homosexuals.

In other words, keep teaching what they have always been teaching? What a weird way to pass a bill on something that has always happened.

Ummm....not sure but I think the idea is to put more of a positive spin on "breeding better humans".....which is odd since so many Republicans are against abortion.

Trump Preached White Supremacy in Minnesota, America Barely Noticed
Touting “the racehorse theory” and the superiority of the genes of white Minnesotans, Trump explicitly embraced eugenics

Out of the gate at the evening rally, Trump stoked nativism in a state that has resettled large numbers of refugees from Somalia. “One of the most vital issues in this election is the subject of refugees,” said Trump, who has fought to block humanitarian resettlement of displaced people in the United States. “You know it perhaps better than almost anybody. Lotsa luck! Are you having a good time with your refugees?” The president then spewed bile at Ilhan Omar — herself a Somali refugee who serves Minnesota in Congress — spouting a baseless theory that she’d once married her brother (Omar calls that accusation “absurd and offensive”). Shifting topics, but not gears, Trump then addressed the racial unrest in Minneapolis that followed the homicide of George Floyd at the hands of police. Trump recounted his push to have the National Guard sent in, insisting, “You wouldn’t have Minneapolis,” if he hadn’t. He then recounted, with a sadist’s delight, how an NBC correspondent of color, Ali Veshi, got injured with a non-lethal round and was shunted aside as a phalanx of law enforcement marched through the city. “Wasn’t it a beautiful sight?” Trump asked. “It’s called law and order!”

That would explain why those Nazis were so sore. Good think many of them lived in Austria, eh?

The Nazi ideology is alive and well. Just like how David Duke changed the face of the KKK by putting on a suit, stopped using the n-word and only talked about "preserving White Heritage", the smarter Nazis are also wearing suits and lobbying in DC. IMHO, Trump, never much of an invertor/creator, rode on the wave of militant anti-government groups that had clearly merged with the white supremacist groups in the fallout of the 1960s.

The Turner Diaries came out in 1978. As FM took over the music waves, talk radio took over AM; the frequency of those limited to older tech and couldn't get FM...at least that's the way I remember it. I had an AM radio as a kid. A pocket radio, which was pretty cool.

A strain of Nazism/White Supremacy exists throughout all the Northern nations. Some big, some small. I'm ashamed for my country that we've allowed failures in society to allow such groups to ferment.

Consider BLM. People protest in an inverse correlation to their happiness. Too much unhappiness can lead to riots. Both the BLM protests and 1/6 coup/riot are examples of very unhappy people, self-segregated as a group, to attack their own society.

The fun part is figuring out what drove them to these extremes. The hard part is figuring out what to do about it.

Inquiring minds want to know.

There are two sides to the Holocaust. Too often we just focus on the Jewish side which purely centers on the what. What terrible things happened to them.

We dont focus on the German side which focuses on the why. Why were Jews targeted? Was Hitler born with an irrational hatred for Jewish people? Or were they a convenient target because they had not fully integrated into society and were more wealthy than the average German? In that case is it truly that different from everyone who wants to tax the rich out of existence? After all the purpose- to sieze assets from a richer class and redistribute it to lower classes is the same.

Well Martin Luther would be the source of irrational hatred. That's certainly the other side.

Disagreed since I do recall being taught about the causes of wars even though that's more of a college level of learning.

Disagreed also that teaching context, as you've well pointed out, is teaching "the other side". It's a basis of all our historical learning. The concern, sometimes fabricated, sometimes not, is ensuring it's the context that is taught and not just fingering certain people/groups with the blame.
