Yes it would stop hijackings. It would also cause a lot of fucking accidents since 90 percent of passengers have probably never fired a gun. It would also cost a fucking lot of money and time cause you'd have to train people to use them. The fact that it would stop hijackings doesn't mitigate the fact that it's FUCKING RETARDED and that there are better solutions (like sky marshals).
