Former Japanese PM Abe Feared Dead After Shooting at Campaign Event

Hey retard, IF ONLY we could be so lucky to only have one prominent shooting in recent history, and not even MASS at that.

In 2018 there were only -9- (not a typo, you read that single digit number correctly) deaths from guns in Japan. That's less than half the 19 children that were mowed down in Uvalde.

And plenty of deaths by other means, dipfuck.

Is it me or did Brandon say the name of his "close friend" backward.

President Joe Biden on Friday said he was "stunned, outraged and deeply saddened by the news that my friend Abe Shinzo, former Prime Minister of Japan, was shot and killed while campaigning."

Abe was a close ally to US Presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump. His relationship with Trump was especially notable given the Republican President's attempt to warm relations with North Korea, and the generally chilly reception he received by other world leaders.

No, he was right.

The recent resignation of Japan’s prime minister had an odd side effect: The raft of media coverage apparently triggered a pet peeve of Defense Minister Kono Taro. Why? Because many media outlets – including The Diplomat – refer to “Shinzo Abe” rather than “Abe Shinzo,” placing the family name second instead of first.

“If you can write Moon Jae-in and Xi Jinping in correct order, you can surely write Abe Shinzo the same way,” Kono .

Interesting and thank you but I went through pages and pages of his obit from a number of sources and a few countries and Brandon's version is not to be found.

How could this possibly happen in the country with the strictest gun controls in the world? I was told all we need to do is take away all guns from citizens and everything would be fine and dandy.

Good point. Japanese gun control has only reduced gun deaths by 99.96%. That leaves 0.04% still happening. It is not an absolute solution to all gun violence, just a near absolute solution. My God, if we had Japans laws, we would "only" save 49,980 lives per year.

In Japanese, the family name is said first, and then the given name. Before Abe, the Japanese tolerated having their family name put last, when speaking in English. Abe decided to push the Japanese naming rules onto the rest of the world (when talking about Japanese names).

In other words, calling him Abe Shinzo is what Abe wanted. Biden did not get the name backwards.

Now trump did get Abe's name backwards. Given that Abe was the one insisting on using Japanese names in the Japanese order, it is disrespectful that trump gets it wrong.
