Blue states are losers

Since the end of lockdowns and coming out of the pandemic, blue states have been hemorrhaging population and businesses as these flee for friendlier red states. The big losers are California, Illinois, and New York with Florida, Texas, and N. Carolina being the biggest winners.

It's pretty damn obvious that both people and business hate high taxes, oppressive government regulation, mask, vax, and lockdown mandates, and all the other bullshit that red Democrat run states pile on their residents by the truckload.

Add in the kind of insane criminal activity in cities like New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, or San Francisco with district attorneys that do nothing to prosecute those criminals, and you get just one more reason to flee blue states for safer, saner, and more profitable red ones.

Florida and NC aren't blue or red. TX is inching that way also (and will probably go full purple with the influx of new blue staters).

But haven't people always migrated south as they get older? This isn't much of a story.

Right wingers resent that fact that the East coast and California run the US economy.

Purple is the new color and seems to be the new trend as well.

Red states are moving towards purple through time and attrition!

Every political season moves Red States closer to Purple!

Trump and his TARDS- along with his SCOTUS picks and insurrectionists are helping accelerate the color purple transition tremendously!

SO THANKS for all of your personal contributions here in the forum as well!

Gene Simmons made a big production out of moving out of California because of the taxes and supposedly oppressive liberals.

But he found he couldn't stand the extreme heat in Las Vegas, and moved back to Beverly Hills after just a few months of sweating his ass off in Vegas.

The ALEC ratings are interesting.
The best states are those with the lowest minimum wages. (Bad for workers.)
The best states are the ones with the least progressive income taxes. (Bad for the lower income earners.)
The best states are the ones with the lowest employer benefits for workers. (Bad for workers.)
The best states are the ones that don't have an inheritance tax. (Great for the rich. Bad for everyone else.)

Basically, all ALEC does is look at what is good for the rich and fails to account for how the people living in the state are actually doing compared to other states.

But the story also says this
A switch to remote work during the pandemic helped drive the population movement, as people previously tethered to office spaces in urban centers were able to seek out more space and a lower cost of living.

The interesting thing is where that growth is and where the people are coming from.
Californians moving to Maricopa county in Arizona. Looks like Arizona is going to get a lot bluer.

Then it will be interesting to see what happens in the next 2 years. Moving to a state that hates women, will likely result in all those people fleeing Texas and Florida to head back to the blue states. Money isn't the biggest driver for most people.
