Early on the day Trump sent an armed mob to compel Congress to keep him in power, the assistant to his chief of staff heard him say, "They aren’t here to hurt me. Let them march to the Capitol from here.”
Since the marchers would be on a mission for him these words should be a serious problem for Trump even if carrying weapons on the Capitol grounds was not a crime - but it is a crime. If Cassidy Hutchinson, the aide, heard Trump say it others likely heard it and a Secret Service agent she identified in her testimony has reportedly confirmed Trump said it. The agent also reportedly confirmed the substance of her other testimony of what transpired in the security vehicle - that Trump insisted on being driven to the Capitol to be with the mob and became furious when the agents refused to take him, denying only that Trump attempted to grab the steering wheel.
The crime is plain as day. Let the courts take it from here.
