And voters need to remember this.

What McConnell did was anti-American, and anti-Constitution. The founders never intended this. Obama had a vacancy on the court, he tried to fill it, and the Senate did not fulfill their duty.

As a result, a one-term failure of a President got to make an inordinate # of court appointments, and shaped the court for a generation. And it's a radical, right-wing court - completely out of step with mainstream America.

McConnell is safely seated until he dies. Which might be by the time his next election bid comes around. Senators are pretty safe once they get past their election. They have 7 years to do all the damage that they can.

McConnell should die a horrible death for what he brags about having done to this nation.

I do believe that is the part being most overlooked. If the Supreme Court wasn't hijacked by 1 person and this was the outcome, that is very different.

I would still disagree and be upset but that would be a self-inflicted wound for the country and represent the wi of the voters.

I hate the idea of the Democrats playing dirty by packing the Court or removing the fillabuster but what choice is there? Thomas already said contraception and same sex marriage is next.. if he said that what else does he intend to go after?

Can we afford to wait to find out? The anger has already divided this country to the brink, eventually, this country will go over the cliff.

I just hope we survive.

Democrats don't have 50 senators. They might just have fewer after November, but this SC decision might just inspire Independents to come out and vote.

You know...those same kids who refused to vote for Hillary, despite being warned that the SC was at stake. I hope the vast majority of them lose access to birth control when the next SC decision comes down.

The Republicans had the majority in the Senate 2015-2017 54 v. 46 when Obama appointed Garland to SC and Republicans did not hold hearings or vote on his confirmation.
