Beto: 13% Of Mail-In Ballots Were Rejected

Hello Lurch,

Why investigative journalism worked with Nixon is that there were still Republicans back then that agreed in country over party. Those Republicans are gone. The only way we'll ever expose Republican wrongdoing is through bi-partisan hearings run like the J6 is doing. Just the facts.

I think both are doing a fine job.

I am really impressed with the J6SC and all it has uncovered.

When we all thought Trump was hiding and sulking after the election and not working for us, he was actually not working for us but working for himself instead. Cooking up every possible scheme where he might be able to steal the election, while claiming the election was stolen.

No. The election would have been stolen if Trump could have gotten away with any of his devious schemes.

Fortunately there were still some Republicans who did stand up to him and just say no to breaking the law for Trump as asked. Those Republicans are not all gone, but if more of the country doesn't get it that Trump was the one trying to steal the election many of those Republicans will be gone. The word needs to get spread far and wide. Vote Blue in 22!. The only good thing to come out of the SCOTUS decisions may be it will motivate more Democratic voters.

"We're all Republicans here, gimme a break."

I wonder if the people whose ballots were rejected were notified and given a chance to meet the stringent new needless requirement.

I further wonder if people may have been notified in Republican leaning counties, but not in Democratic leaning ones; as was done in Florida in the 2000 vote.

Everything was on the table. Some of these Republicans are so devious and underhanded they would leave no stone unturned in their cheating.

Partially true. He believes the election was fair but is distressed that 13% of Texans couldn't vote because they didn't properly fill out the form.

There's pros and cons to that story. While I don't have a problem with IQ tests for voting, I do have a problem when only certain groups are targeted. A poll tax is wrong. Disenfranchising Americans by race or income is wrong.

I see no problem in morons, imbeciles, and other mental detritus being "disenfranchised" this way. Do we really want retards voting for our leaders?

A hearing where only ONE party gets to select who is on the committee isn't bi-partisan no matter how much you try to pretend it is.

Back then they didn’t accept it

It flipped when the tape of Nixon emerged

The last two weeks before he resigned

Republicans claim individual voters cheat in elections

The last few decades of court records PROOVE the Republican Party has cheated in elections for decades

The voters are not cheating folks

Back then they didn’t accept it

Not only do we have tapes, we have videos of twump's people telling us twump was trying to overturn an election he knew he lost. Still all the GOP leaders are calling 1/6 "overblown". Fox isn't even talking about it.

The GOP who valued country over party are all gone.

So anyway, twump tried to steal the election and the committee where clowns like Jordan, who just would have derailed it, were kept off and serious Republicans are leading the charge, twump's guilt has been proven.

You cannot dispute any of the facts put forward by the J6.

and this is exactly a matter of either
a. idiot voter cant fill out a simple form to save themselves the bother of turning up on election day
or
b. the entity looking to cast fraudlient votes didnt do their homework.

either way, nothing like a poll tax.

A; There's a reason most of the voters are elderly: they're immobile. Either can't drive for physical or mental reasons. Should they be voting? If they have their wits about them, yes, but if not, then that should be examined more closely. Not just falsely claim it's fraudulent because they fucked up.

B; consider the entity that is falsely claiming fraudulent votes when there is little to no evidence.

Do you support free IDs qualified for voting? If not, then you are supporting a backdoor poll tax. Why not a national ID?...and requiring all employers and renters to use it. Good for Voting and free to all American citizens at 18 every 5 years? 10?

If the infirm cannot accurately fill out an application one certanloy could question whether they should be voting or not but nobody is having that conversation nor are they likely to start.

Free ID, I have no issue with that.

Do you support inking thumbs at the polling place (for in person voting) ?

Still, shouldn't it be more regulated? Between a simple mistake on a form they fill out every 2 to 4 years and being too stupid to know what it is?

Being over 65, I was solicited to vote by mail. Guess who was doing the soliciting? LOL

Same with owning a gun? I agree. As stated before, people should be qualified.

Good on government ID.

In the 21st century? WTF happened to biometrics? Isn't the entire purpose of an ID to verify the person is who they say they are?

Beto:

Draconian voting suppression laws in Texas:

13% of mail-in ballots were rejected.

Previous years it was 1%.

2:56 time stamp

If Republicans have such a winning message, why do they have to cheat?

In areas like Houston Republican ballots were more likely to be rejected. Older votes are more likely to vote by mail and be Republican.

Hello Flash,

In areas like Houston Republican ballots were more likely to be rejected. Older votes are more likely to vote by mail and be Republican.

And despite that, more Democratic ballots were thrown out than Republican. And that was the clear intent behind the law, which would have come under the scrutiny of the Federal Government under the Voting Rights Act. The law would have required Federal pre-clearance before it could take effect. It would have been analyzed to determine if it would affect voting unfairly, which it clearly has.

We need a new Federal Voting Rights Act.

Democrats have been trying to enact just such a law.

For the People Act (2019 and 2021)
Help America Vote Act (HAVA)
John Lewis Voting Rights Act (2019 and 2021)

All are designed to make voting more fair, and that is why Republicans block it every time.

The Fuck the People act is outright legalization of voter fraud.
The John Lewis act is just a repackaging of the Fuck the Voters act.

These were not passed because they both are egregiously obvious attempts to codify systems that would allow massive voter fraud in our elections.

Biometrics are (relatively) expensive compared to indelible dye. And anything on a computer can be hacked.

There could easily be some consideration for guns and the infirm/blind much as there needs to be for not crazy.
