Richard Donoghue, President Donald Trump’s acting deputy attorney general, picked up the phone at home in December 2020 to hear the president of the United States insist once again that the election he had just lost was filled with fraud.

He reached to his wife’s nightstand, picked up pad and pen, and took precise notes, scribbling in loose cursive as Trump spoke: “Just say the election was corrupt + leave the rest to me and the R. Congressmen.”

On Thursday, those same handwritten notes flashed on an oversize video panel in a hearing room amid a riveting afternoon of testimony before the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

It will be bad if Merrick Garland prosecutes Trump — and worse if he doesn’t

But it might be even more dangerous to live in the sort of nation where a president can violate the law with absolute impunity. Once, we might have worried about a leader who would risk shooting a man on Fifth Avenue. Now, we risk being governed by a president who will try his best to negate the will of the voters and remain in office despite having been dismissed.

The Jan. 6 House selectcommittee, in its riveting public hearings, has made what strikes this non-lawyer as a compelling case that Trump orchestrated a fraudulent and ultimately violent attempt to overturn the result of the 2020 election.

Trouble is, there actually WAS a significant amount of fraud in that election. We'll never know how much though, because the swamp was going bonkers over the realization that there might not be an ass in the chair behind the Resolute desk on January 20th.

Nixon was impeached.......he was never charged with a crime because he didn't commit one........neither did Trump.........he won't be charged either.......go ahead and impeach him......again......

You speak of a significant amount of fraud, yet neither you or no one else has been able to document any. I wonder why.
