Current polling in New Hampshire gives DeSantis the lead over Trump.
I still don’t think he’ll run.

Maybe you can explain what makes DeSantis better or more desirable than trump?
For the simple reason that he presents better, forms a clearer message, and knows better how to work with folks to get something done.
Why would it matter to you why I would prefer to vote for someone other than Trump or Brandon?

It is indeed. Folks have to vote for things for him to sign. Even if you don't agree with those things he is working with others to get things done. I submit that you not agreeing with those things likely means that there is a large chance that I probably do. If he makes liberals feel butt hurt, then he's likely someone I would vote for (well, I'd likely be voting against Brandon, but I'd rather vote for someone that can use multi syllabic words while doing so).
I have a hard time seeing a former president behind bars.
The Arizona GOP leader basically called Trump a law breaking fascist, but then said he would vote for Trump again. I don't think he is atypical in the GOP, and illustrates how they have become a cult

Just like I said, you like him because he's an asshole. That is your main requirement. As long as he pisses off the lib'ruls it doesn't matter whether or not it's good policy.
A real President, someone with honor and a sense of decency, realizes and accepts that he represents everybody, not just those who vote for him. That President will engage in compromise and support legislation that contains elements each side will both like and dislike.
That's what effective and democratic leadership is about.
But the selfish assholes of the right refuse to support anyone who will compromise.
In order to succeed as a Republican in today's climate, you have to prove you're a macho, chest-thumping jackass like the assholes who identify as and vote Republican.
The only people DeShithead is "working with", are other yes-men shitheads who pander to their asshole constituents.

It's difficult to tell if that's just politics as usual or not. IMO, they are saying it because they know it will never happen; Trump won't be running.

I think it's more about politics and protecting his family from the looney tunes.
What was very interesting to me is that the agitators were militia. He identified at least one Three Percenter. The same terrorists Donnie Junior was associated as shown below.
A curiosity to me is that the Three Percenters aren't mentioned as being in the Capitol; only the Proud Boys and Oath-Keepers. Were they outside of the city with the arms caches?
